New for Pulp City - V.H, Blacksmith, Red Bella, Primates of Power and more!

The streets of Pulp City are getting a lot of new Heroes and Villains now that they have started monthly releases.

First up are V.H and Blacksmith for the Blood Watch Heroes. Released last month they are a stunning looking pair of minis and great in game.
V.H is a level 3 Leader that adds a lot to the Faction for the new Supreme Edition of the game.
Blacksmith is a level 2 Tank that is great at backing up and supporting the rest of the team.

This month we will be seeing reinforcements for ARC. The Ape Revolutionary Committee.
Red Bella hasn't had the model previewed yet but her artwork (above) has been around since the first edition Pulp City Guide was released. As for her rules, we know she will be a level 2 and her origin will be Mystery but that is all we know so far.
She also has some little friends.......

The Primates of Power are 3 little Supremes, each a different Origin.
There has been talk of them either boosting the whole team, team mates of the same Origin or even a single level 2 Supreme up to a level 3 Leader. Looking forward to finding out which bits are real.

Next month the Coven will be getting some love in the shape of Papa Zombie (top) and Comte Vendredi (bottom).
Not a whole lot is known about these 2 yet but Comte looks awesome and I'm sure Papa will look just as good.
After that, who knows? New Starter Sets maybe?

You may have seen that there is a 500th Post Giveaway (link) running on here at the moment with lots of Deep Wars and DreadBall goodies.
Why mention this in a Pulp City post? Well, if the ToaTS Facebook Page hits 500 likes (only 17 to go) by the time the giveaway ends, we will be adding in some 'Supreme' PC prizes!

Which of these new additions do you like the most?

Pulp City Supreme Edition - A Look at the Cards

The team at Pulp City have posted up their next article in the build up to PC Supreme Edition.
This time is a look at the new card designs.
You find find the Editorial Eye #3 post >HERE< and I have also copied it below.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Time to look at the Supreme Cards (details may still vary after the open beta):

Looks familiar? Good!
This is the side you will be seeing when buying a blister. It tells you pretty much everything that you need to recruit the model.
By looking at the card, you know Howler’s Level, faction and subfaction. The new things: base size, Minion+(how many Minion levels the Supreme brings to the team – yes, Resources you knew are gone) and AP+ (how many AP does the Supreme generate for team – gone is the old mechanic of level based AP generation).

Now, let’s turn the card to its gaming side.
The beauty of the new PC cards is that all info is one side of it. You will waste no time flipping the cards.

Let’s look at the top bar (the dark grey). Each model has its type clearly stated: Howler is Living, but you will also find Non-Living, Mechanical, E.T. and Outsider or any combination of them. This allows you quickly to assess what models get affected by certain Actions. The new icon represents movement – now Supremes and Minions will have different movement values – previous Blitzer bonuses are incorporated in one stat. Howler can Sprint – which is a default movement type – but other Supremes will be able to Fly, Blink, Bound or Wallcrawl.

Each Supreme comes with a selection of Powers. The first one is always a Role Power, so Howler will share his Blaster Power with Ace of Wraiths, Tangent and other Blasters. Then each Supreme gets one Power per level. One for Howler, sorry amigo. As you see in his case, he may still do what he used to do (and much more as you will soon find out) but there is much less text on the card to go through.

The light grey area might be something of a surprise to all Pulp City players. Gone are skills and team powers, welcome Powers section that combines both and puts all of the needed information on the card and not inside the book.

But first, Actions. Each Supreme has access to 3 Actions. There are no universal Actions anymore. But the way Actions work now (see next Editorial Eye), you actually end up having more choices then before. Howler can blast his guns with two Projectile Actions and surprise his enemies with a Reaction when Targeted by enemy (Reaction is a new type of Action that may be triggered when models are charged, shot at etc.).

Catch the next Editorial Eye to get familiar with the Action Roll – probably the biggest change to the game mechanics.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you think of these changes to Pulp City so far then?

Pulp have also continued to post more background stories. This week it is the turn of the little guy, Le Murtiple of ARC (link)

Pulp City - Preview, New Releases and PAW Update

The Pulp City Facebook Page has had some very interesting news on it today.
First up is the above picture. Guerilla 2!
This resculpt of one of the earliest Pulp City models (below) is stunning and in my opinion, a massive improvement!
It has been mentioned that Guerilla 2 might be available for a couple of people taking part in the Pulp City Supreme Edition Open Beta starting next week!

They have also announced the start of a new wave of releases. These will be coming out in individual blisters, EVERY MONTH, starting in Feb.
The releases for the entire year are already set and the models for the November wave are being cast up this week!

February - Green Emperor and the Terror Cotta Warrios for Jade Cult

March - V.H (no picture yet) and Blacksmith for Blood Watch

April - Red Bella and the 3 Primates of Power for ARC

May - Papa Zombie and Comte Vendredi for the Coven

June onwards - who knows?
Some goodies will be available early at Salute 2013 and they may even be on sale over that weekend online for those that aren't going. Yay!

A little bit of info found on Facebook today also says there will be 'Build Our Own Supreme' rules coming in 2014 for Supreme Edition!

As for the update mentioned, The Hairy Painter has been had at work with the Supreme for PAW 2013!

They are looking amazing!
Cant wait for PAW!

New Pulp City Previews, FAQ and Errata + Fenris Citizens

First of all, apologies for the lack of posts over the last few days.
I have actually been playing games! I know, wow!

Right, got lots of Pulp City goodness for you today. 3 previews, a sneak peak, FAQ, Errata and some 'grimm' news.

At the top you can see 3 apes. All of different origins. Mystery, Nature and Science. These are the Primates of Power.
Upgrades to several Lvl2 ARC Supremes making them more powerful Lvl3 team leaders.
Current Supremes we know can level up so far are Guerilla and Dr Red. But it has also been mentioned that 'most' ARC Lvl2 Supremes can use the Primates so my guess is everyone apart from Apebot.

Onto the new previews of these stunning little creatures.
All from the Pulp City Facebook Page

Love the look of these little guys. Cant wait to see some more shots of them and finally get my hands on them as well.

Talking of shots, this was taken by a security drone in one of Pulp Cities warehouses.
Could it be one of the Terror Cotta Warriors rumoured to be imported by the Jade Cult?
A dock worker described a recent load to a police artist

While we are on the subject of minis, the Grimm have also been mentioned recently.
Pulp City are moving over to blister packs for their releases. When this happens the new Grimm models AND the old ones will both be released for general sale. No more Ltd Ed beasties!

On the rules side of Pulp City (and what great rules they are) there have been 2 new updates.

An Errata that can be found >>HERE<<
and an FAQ that's >>HERE<<

Both of these PDFs clear up some points in the rulebook and with a couple of the Supremes.
Supreme Zed CAN be healed by Sanguine!!!!!!!
Worth checking them out, might just answer any questions you have.

Finally for today's post is some 'Not Official' Pulp City news.
A set of modern people standing tokens from Fenris Games
2mm black plastic city dwellers. Perfect for using as citizens in a Pulp City game!

What do you think of all of these goodies then?

Judge Dredd by Mongoose Publishing. A new minis game for ToaTS?

Last weekend at the Legionary con I picked up some ape minis for my Pulp City ARC team.
Then I started to look over the other minis on the Mongoose Publishing stand.
All sorts of weird and wonderful things inc Judge Dredd himself! Great sculpts as well.
I was never really into Dredd when I was younger, but for some reason these minis really grabbed my interest.

A couple of the other members of our gaming club also picked up some of the minis and then PJ from Shades of Chaos told  me about the free rulebook for the Judge Dredd game. Found >>HERE<<
Had to download that one!

After a good read through, we decided to give it a try at our local club tomorrow night. I will report back on how that goes.
The rules seem quick and easy but also a lot of fun. Plus there is a very nice campaign system which is always a draw for me.

How about a look at the sort of things included in the range? (click any pics to view larger)
First of all there is Dredd and the other Judges. Including some in HUGE armour.

And then there is the well know Angel Gang with the awesome Mean Machine!

The Ape Gang that I have started with. How can you say no to a gorilla with a shotgun in a dress?

Other playable gangs and citizens of Mega City One range from Sky Surfers to Lone Vigilante Super Heros and stampeding Fatties to Renegade Robots

There are many others that live in the city or outside of the walls. Mutants, criminals in Bat suits, Zombie necromancers and the Klegg

As I said, I started with the apes. But...........
I decided to pick up another couple of minis giving me the choice to use Super Heros or Zombies instead.
The Sky Surfers, Judge and Robots are calling to me as well.

If you like the look of all these minis then check out the Judge Dredd Page on Mongoose Publishing and keep an eye out on this blog to see how we get on.
