A Harry Potter Minis Game?

Yes, that's right.
Knight Models are working on a Harry Potter minis game for release next year.

New Marvel / Batman Releases!

Knight Models have posted up the new Marvel and Batman releases for June and they look awesome.
First up we have the very impressive Hulk. Bringing some serious muscle to your Avengers team at Level 17 and tons of damage out put.

The X-Men get a big boost as well in the shape of Jean Grey. Jean bring lots of Mental attacks and some very nice Psychic powers.
Plus she is one of the most stunning models I have seen in a long time.

Emma Frost joins the Mental attack of the mutants but she will work for either side.
Opponents got high Mental Defense? Switch to Diamond Form and start pounding them down.

The Batman releases this month are all themed around Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns.
First up is the new Robin, Carrie Kelly and the ex-mutants, the Sons of Batman.
These give great support to Batman crews that don't want to use Police.

The Joker comes with some new toys. A bunch of robotic, gas breathing, flying, exploding dolls!
These will add a whole new feel to Joker crews.

The final model this month is Oliver Queen, aka the Green Arrow. But now he's a lot older and minus one arm thanks to Superman.
Oliver is packing a Kryptonite Arrow though in case Supes ever comes back.

And don't forget there has been a update to the Marvel Universe rules.

The Force Awakens in X-Wing on May the 4th!

May the 4th brings awesome news from Fantasy Flight Games for the X-Wing Mini Game!

Poe's black T-70 and the updated Millenium Falcon with Rey, Finn and older Chewy and Han.

What do a desert scavenger and a fugitive Stormtrooper have in common with an iconic war hero and the galaxy's greatest pilot? They are all coming to X-Wing™ in the Heroes of the Resistance Expansion Pack!

With Heroes of the Resistance, Rey, Finn, Han Solo, and Poe Dameron all make the transition from the big screen to your tabletop. Rey and Han arrive as Resistance pilots for a new version of the Millennium Falcon with a sculpt and paint scheme that have been updated to reflect the ship's appearance in The Force Awakens. Finn supports the Resistance as a crew upgrade. And the galaxy's greatest pilot Poe Dameron can now fly to battle as Black One, sitting in the cockpit of his signature black T-70 X-wing.

In addition to its new starship miniatures, Heroes of the Resistance introduces ten ship cards and eighteen upgrades, plus all requisite maneuver dials and tokens. These include a Poe Dameron with a pilot skill value of "9," ship cards for both Han Solo and Chewbacca that feature new pilot abilities, three new unique Resistance X-wing pilots, new elite pilot talents, new Tech upgrades, and unique Title upgrades for both the Millennium Falcon and Black One.

Updating the Millennium Falcon

While, in essence, it is still the same heavily customized YT-1300 light freighter that the galaxy has come to know and love, the Millennium Falcon from the Heroes of the Resistance Expansion Pack comes with a few key differences from the version in the Millennium Falcon Expansion Pack.

First of all, you might notice the ship's new, rectangular sensor array. While this is likely the first change you may notice in the difference between the sculpts, it is not the only one. Heroes of the Resistance introduces a new sculpt and paint scheme for the Falcon that faithfully represent all the changes that the ship underwent between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

Next, you might notice that the expansion's new Millennium Falcon  Title upgrade features a different ability from the version in the Millennium Falcon Expansion Pack. While that version seemed to reflect Han Solo's ability to fly theFalcon out of the most improbable of situations, the new version calls to mind Rey's piloting in The Force Awakens, as she looped back on her opponents after flying out of the hull of a crashed Star Destroyer. And just as that maneuver allowed Finn to line up a shot, the new Title upgrade allows your Falcon to catch your opponents squarely in your firing arc more often than not.

And that is a good thing. For even as Heroes of the Resistance introduces new versions of both Han Solo and Chewbacca, it also marks the debut of Rey . The Falcon may come with a turret primary weapon, but Rey's ability ensures that you get the most mileage from your Falcon when you can maneuver it skillfully. Whenever she attacks or defends against an enemy ship within her firing arc, she can reroll up to two blank dice. Accordingly, even asHeroes of the Resistance promotes the exploration of new tactics, it emphasizes the importance that the game places upon skillful maneuvering, reinforcing one of the game's core joys.

The Galaxy's Greatest Pilot

At the time of The Force Awakens, Poe Dameron enjoys a reputation for being the Star Wars galaxy's greatest pilot, and Heroes of the Resistance offers both a new T-70 X-wing miniature and ship card worthy of his reputation.

Among other things, X-Wing has earned a reputation for the high quality of its pre-painted miniatures. These miniatures transform your games into richly immersive Star Wars experiences, and the new T-70 X-wing miniature inHeroes of the Resistance adds to your experience by allowing you to fly Poe in his custom black-and-orange fighter. More than that, though, this new T-70 X-wing has been updated with a new detail certain to catch the attention of every true Star Wars fan: instead of the R4 astromech that comes with the standard T-70 X-wing sculpt, Poe Dameron's signature vessel comes sculpted with his faithful astromech companion, BB-8.

Meanwhile, Heroes of the Resistance also introduces a new Poe Dameron ship card. Interestingly enough, his unique pilot talent remains untouched:

"While attacking or defending, if you have a focus token, you may change 1 of your  results to a  or  result."

Yet where his unique pilot talent remains unchanged, Poe's pilot skill value has been increased from "8" to "9," a change accompanied by a corresponding increase in his cost from thirty-one squad points to thirty-three. This change from "8" to "9" is particularly meaningful because it vaults Poe into the very top echelon of X-Wing pilots. No pilot in the game has a base pilot skill value greater than "9." This is the elite value shared by the likes of Darth Vader and Wedge Antilles , and now Poe joins those ranks.

This means that Poe stands an even better chance than before of maneuvering after his opponents and firing before them. Given the versatility that he gains from his ship's boost action, especially when BB-8 is aboard, the ability to maneuver after his opponents makes it easy for Poe to line up his shots, round after round. And firing first is just as crucial… because after Poe has destroyed a ship, he is freed from the threat of return fire.

An Instant Classic

The new issue of Tabletop Gaming magazine is out today in the UK and contains a great article on Knight Model's new Marvel games.

Marvel Universe Miniature Game - An Intro

It's here! It's finally here! The Marvel Universe Miniature Game is coming from Knight Models.
Above you can see the first teaser which has already spread around the internet like wildfire. I'm not surprised as comic / tabletop fans like myself have been waiting for years to see something like this.

I am going to be posting all sorts of info on the MUMG over the next couple of weeks and answering any questions I can.
How about we start with a little intro into the game?

What is the MUMG?
This game is a small scale skirmish level game where Superheroes and Villains face off against each other in a 3D tabletop set up. It could be a city, the Wakandan desert, the Savage Lands, the blue area of the moon or anything you like. In Marvel they fight anywhere.
It is played on a 36" x 36" board so will fit on most tables without a problem.

In a game you will usually have between 4-7 characters on your team. Each of these characters act individually using their own Power to carry out different attacks and use Special Powers.
Many can help or hinder each others though with boosts and actions like a Fastball Special.

The aim of the game is to win set scenarios by completing different tasks and scoring Victory Points. These could be anything from take down / save the highest Level model in the team or rescue and keep a Cosmic Relic.

Each character comes with their own Stat Card which shows everything they can do. Attacks, Defence, Skills, Power, Damage and such.
These are then used in a 2 D8 mechanic during the game. For example, 2D8 plus Attack Stat vs Defence Stat or 2D8 against your own Agility.

The first wave of the MUMG will include 3 Starter set of four models each. Avengers, X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy as well as an additional character for each faction and a miniature rulebook in each starter set.

A couple of questions that have come up already-

Is it compatible with the Batman and Spider-Man games?
- No. The MUMG is a completely different rules set. But, I do expect to see the main Spider-Man characters get rules.

Can I buy this in my local store?
- Yes! The MUMG will be available to anyone that stock Knight Models products.

Arkham Asylum + New KM Website

It's been a HUGE week for news from Knight Models and it doesn't look like its stopping any time soon.

So far we have had -
- The Sons of Batman demo team program
- Marvel Game rumours
- New Brand, Knight Models Legends
- Resin Arkham Knight Batmobile
- Alternate painting contest

Now, KM have announced a brand new website including additional player tools, and the first item available from the KM Legends line, the awesome MDF Arkham Asylum.

"Due to the questions, guesses and predictions from the community following the reveal of Knight Models Legends this week, we would like to explain a little more about our new brand and what the future will hold for it.

Knight Models Legends was created with the idea of bringing the magic of comic book universes to our original product range. Iconic Buildings, detailed vehicles and even alternate miniature lines will all become reality with this new brand. We will be using different materials such as resin for many future releases as we would like KM Legends to be known for its superior quality.

The entire Knight Models Legends range will only be available in our online store, so we thought this would be a great time to combine it with the release of an entire new website design. One of the first new products you will find on there after launch will be our already famous Arkham Asylum.

New Knight Models June Releases

Hi all!
Knight Models have posted up their June releases for the Batman Miniature Game.
Available to order now from KM and should be in the shops in a couple of weeks.

First up is something I have been wanting for ages.....

A Court of Owls boxed set!!!!!!!!
This new set comes in around the 220 Rep mark making it one of the largest boxes so far.
Benjamin Orchard is the Leader with the Talons William Cobb, Strix and Xiao Loong as Henchmen.
If you want to look up the characters, Orchard is in the Talon series, Cobb is in Batman, Strix is in Batgirl and Loong is in Red Hood and the Outlaws.
They are limited to only using Court of Owls models though.

The Court also get a Free Agent in the shape of Felix Harmon, the Gotham Butcher.
A big and dangerous Talon from the Talon comic series, the Butcher is 81 Rep and makes the Court up to a full 300 Rep with their initial release.

Hush has also arrived as a Free Agent for Joker, Ivy, Scarecrow and Riddler.
At 73 Rep, Tommy Elliot brings some good firepower and some interesting new rules to these crews.

The final figure for this month is Firefly. a 73Rep Free Agent for all Villain crews.
The first flyer and flamethrower in the game means that a lot of Villain crews will be hiring his services.

The June releases are finished off with some Court of Owls counters and a pair of MDF Bank of Gotham Safes.

Batman and Marvel May Releases from Knight Models

Earlier this week, Knight Models put up their new releases for May.
For Batman game are a set of Bane Thugs including one on Venom, Lady Shiva and some female non-elite Ninjas for the League, the Joker's Daughter and some Black Mask action counters.
The Marvel range gained the fantastic Doc Ock and a multi-pack of Doc Ock, Spiderman, Green Goblin and Venom.

Red Hood and Loki join Arrow, Swamp Thing and more for the Jan Releases

The Knight Models Marvel and DC releases have just hit. They are awesome!

First up we have the anti-hero, Red Hood (Jason Todd). The model looks fantastic and his rule can be seen below.

Red Hood is an 84 Rep Sidekick for the Batman and Organised Crime crews. He goes up against 3 other Batman sidekicks, but if you wanted short ranged killing, Jason is your guy!
The Organised Crime Affiliation is great as it lets him run a street crew from Under the Red Hood.
The down side? Jason can't work with Speedy / Arsenal so no Red Hood and the Outlaws.

Next up we have this months only Marvel release. The God of Mischief, half brother of Thor, Loki.
Loki gets his classic comic look which is stunning. He doesn't have game rules yet, but Knight Models have said there is a game in the works.

The next Batman Minis Game release is Swamp Thing. While we did see a preview a couple of days ago, KM have now added his rules card as well.
A 150 Rep Ivy Sidekick with Affinity: Batman and a massive 11 Endurance! This guy is going to see a lot of table time on both sides of the law.

The final model for Jan is CWs Arrow. The preview was up last week but here it is again as a recap.
I can't wait to get Oliver to lead my Green Arrow crew. Plus it's the same week as the show starts again!

 The Tokens this month are for the businessman of Gotham, the Penguin. The logo is great. Going to have to grab a couple of packs of these I think.

Last but not least are the Arkham City Warning Signs. These will be great for rooftop cover and LOS blocking.

New Marvel and DC December Releases from Knight Model

 It's time for some new goodies again from Knight Models and they don't disappoint with the December releases.

First up is the killer lady herself, Elektra. A really nice model that captures the character really well. No rules yet, but don't forget, there is a Supers game in the works!

 The second Marvel releases this month is one we recently previewed. The Man Without Fear, Daredevil.

 The December Marvel releases are finished off with a new pack, the Marvel Knights. Elektra and Daredevil get joined by Spiderman and the Punisher. At a nice discount as well.

 The DC / Batman Minis Game releases are just as nice this month. The first is Kathy Kane a.k.a Batwoman.

A 95 Rep Sidekick for the Batman and Law gangs, shes looks like she will be a lot of fun on the table.

The Bad guys dont get left out thid month. Nyssa al Ghul has come to join the League of Shadows / Assassins. Anyone that has been watching Arrow will know Nyssa very well.

Aa a Sidekick at 83 Rep and $300, she is going to take up a sizeable chuck on your force, but she is worth it!

 Nyssa's dad has also come to lead the League. The second Ra's al Ghul released so far is based on the character from the Arkham video games but could easly pass for a comic or animated version as well.

Coming in at 125 Rep, he is almost half of a crew all on his own. But his rules are crazy! The Bat will be no problem to him.

 With the new League additions, there is now a discounted League of Shadows Set. Arkham Ra's and Nyssa are joined by Talia al Ghul, Movie Ra's and 5 Ninjas.

 To finish off your League collection, how about some nice golden League Action Markers?

 Demeber also sees the addition of the first gang based objective. Joker Gas Canisters. They even come with additional rules for using them.

 The Gotham Scenography range continues with a GCPS SWAT Van. While a couple of people have said it looks 'blocky', I think its pretty close to the set photos of the real one.

Some gap filling and it will look perfect.

 Finally, Gotham needed some Phone Booths. Or Superman wouldn't have anywhere to change when he visits. These new terrain sets also seem to include glass/plastic sections for added effect.
