Marvel Minis Game Incoming?

Is the Marvel miniature game on the way? I think it might be!

Knight Models have launched a new brand. Knight Model Legends looks like it could be a starting point for a new Marvel tabletop game. Keep an eye on their Twitter for more info.

Marvel Mini Review - Green Goblin + Doctor Octopus

Hi all!
It's time to take a look at some of the recent Marvel offerings from Knight Models.
The last couple of months have seen releases of two of Spiderman's biggest foes. The Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus.

Both of these models come in the usual Knight Models packaging. A blister with all the parts shown on one side held in tightly with foam and the backing card showing a finished version of the model inside.
While these models don't have rules cards like the Batman ones do at the moment, there is talk of a Marvel minis game coming in the future.

Here you can see the parts included in each. I did forget to include the new plastic scenic bases that now come with all KM models.
These parts were VERY clean. Minimal mould lines and only a couple of bits of flash to remove.
The Green Goblins's body is in four parts withe a single part glider and a smoke trail.
Doc Ock is a single piece body with two separate arms and a pair of arms attached to the base tab.
I decided to cut the base tabs off of these to mount them on resin base toppers so ended up with four lose Doc Ock arms.

Glue time......

The Green Goblin was really simple to build. All of the parts fit together really well with barely any gaps, no more than any other metal model anyway.
Doc Ock took a little more work but only due to the fact I separated the base arms and mounted it on a higher base then usual. This meant that I need to do a extra bit of bending on the robotic arms to get him to stand the way I wanted him.
There are quite small connections on the body so make sure you have the arms in the position you want them and then glue them strongly one at a time.

On Wayland Games these will set you back £10.36 each. It might seem a bit much for a single mini but these are quite big, very detailed and licensed characters. Plus, its no more than a ship or character for some of the bigger games out there.

Overall, I am in LOVE with these minis. They are both really big imposing villains that fit the Spiderman setting really well. The sculpts and poses capture each character perfectly and I can honestly say that these are both now up there in my Top 5 Knight Models minis ever produced.
I really can't wait to see what Marvel goodies they come out with next.

Batman and Marvel May Releases from Knight Models

Earlier this week, Knight Models put up their new releases for May.
For Batman game are a set of Bane Thugs including one on Venom, Lady Shiva and some female non-elite Ninjas for the League, the Joker's Daughter and some Black Mask action counters.
The Marvel range gained the fantastic Doc Ock and a multi-pack of Doc Ock, Spiderman, Green Goblin and Venom.

Exclusive 35mm Marvel Preview - Doctor Octopus from Knight Models

The ultimate Spiderman villain. Dr Otto Octavius. a.k.a Dr Octopus!
With his four robotic arms, Doc Ock has been a problem for Spidey for several years.
Leader of the original Sinister Six and many versions of the villainous team since, Doc Ock has even taken over the body of Spiderman himself.

Time for a pic of the mini!

This Doctor Octopus is based on the 'classic' version in all his green and yellow tubbyness.
I really can't wait to get my hands on this guy.

Marvel and Batman March Releases

Knight Models posted up their new Marvel and Batman releases yesterday and WOW!
The March releases are very impressive.

First up is Norman Osborne a.k.a the Green Goblin. While the Marvel models don't have rules (yet) this is still a fantastic model. Captures the character perfectly.

For Batman, the releases are just as nice.
Penguin from the Gotham TV show looks just like the actor and gives the Penguin crew a new Leader or he can be used as a Sidekick for an Organised Crime crew.
Penguin's rules are HERE.

Talking of Organised Crime, Commissioner Loeb and the GCPD are coming as well.
Loeb can lead a Law force or be a sidekick for Organised Crime. Lieutenant Branden is also a Sidekick for Organised Crime, but he can also be a Sidekick for Law, Two Face and Black Mask.
Both of them are Corrupt meaning they can take up to 3 Law Henchmen in any crew they join, including SWAT as they also both have Elite Boss (SWAT).
The GCPD are filled out with a SWAT member with battering ram and a Detective.

The next two sets are some well needed Henchmen.
Two Face gets a two pack. One with a revolver and one with a shield and petrol bomb. Together they only come in at 33 Rep so easy to add to your crew.

The final model set is the stunning Blackgate Prisoners 2. These 4 chaps can be taken by ANY Villain crew. Coming in at just under 100 Rep, they can boost a crew where it needs help. The weapons and rules are great to. An electric baton, automatic gun, axe and bodyguard with brass knuckles means they have a man for almost any situation.

As well as pretty models, KM carry on with their Gotham Scenography MDF range.
This month is a pair of very nice billboards featuring Penguin's Iceberg Lounge and Vicki Vale's chat show. They will make great rooftop cover for the Dark Knight.
