After some French Dystopian ships, Can you help?

Hi all, I don't usually do this but I'm asking for help on a trade / sale.

I am after 4 individual Republique of France Dystopian Wars minis.
Why?
Well, after getting into he game I have found that the blister sizes don't seem to match the squadron sizes. Most are out by 1 model.
I have 4 squads I want to fill out but buying 4 more blisters, just to take 1 mini out of each, is abit too much for me.

If you have any of the ships listed below and you are willing to sell / trade them, please shoot me an email using the 'Email Hendybadger' link on the right.
Please. :)

I am after-
1x Furieux Scout Flyer (above, other pics below)
1x Epaulard Sub above and below water
1x Voltaire Heavy Interceptor
1x Chevalier Destroyer
(want new if possible)

I willing to buy these via Paypal or trade for -

3x Frelon Small Flyer
3x Toulon Armoured Cruiser
6x Lyon Frigate
(no pictures but all new)

If anybody can help me out here I will give you mentions and links on here to wherever you like. Within reason obviously.

Thanks in advance

Aquanaut - Final Member of the Supreme Alliance

The final Supreme Alliance member (for now) had been shown on the Pulp City Facebook page

Aquanaut
What if an alien race came to Earth before the time of the humans and settled in the sunless depths of the oceans? Would they treat us like invaders? Ask Aquanaut (or at least that is the name she uses for humans).

Another amazing design. Im really looking forward to this team.
Talking of the team, there is now a group shot as well.
Joining Aquanaut are A-Beast, Coldfire, Codename: Unknown, Spybreaker and Battlesuit 7.
That's not the full team though. The 7th member is already in the game.
Perun!

Im going to need 2 of each of these models. And original paint scheme for each one and an Avengers inspired scheme for each. (already started Perun as Thor)
In fact I will need 3 Battlesuit 7s. Original, Iron Man and Iron Patriot! Well they are the all American Supreme team.

What are your thoughts now we seen the entire team?

Showcase: Pulp City by Pulp Citizen

Why the 'pink' PC logo? Find out >>HERE<<

This is going to be the first of hopefully many showcases on ToaTS.
Today we have the work of the awesome Pulp Citizen from the Pulp Citizen Blog (link) and the Pulp City Game Design Team!

What do the PC team have to say about him? Well....

- Leon – the voice of reason. Super-power: Takes blame for everybody. Weakness: Asks difficult questions that get him into trouble.

Looks like some pretty amazing powers!

Pulp Citizen has around 90-95 'painted' Pulp City models at the moment. Working on more all the time.
Looking forward to seeing him Hadron and Monsters.

Onto the showcase- 25 of his favourite paint jobs. Click the picture to view in a larger size.

The Supremes, 1 row at a time.

Supreme Zed, Shadow Mask, Crimson Oni, Stalker, Perun
Aquarius Warlord, Mourn, Sovereign, Lady Cyburn, Solar/Dark Solar
Arquero, Dr Mercury, Scorpio Fencer, Avatar of the Jaguar, Riposte
Moonchild, Moon Coyote, Dr Red, Virgo, Sagitarrius
Guerrilla, Skyline, Iron Train, Grimm Elder, Loup Garou II

Pulp Citizen has sort of been my mentor as I ventured into Pulp City. Answering the most ridiculous questions my mind could come up with. He is still doing that to this day! (well he does ask for my opinions and that's not always a good idea)
He even helped create the Hendybadger himself.

What do you think of his work then?

On the topic of Pulp City, check out the new website >>HERE<< for weekly new artwork and background stories.
Today's update is the mighty Captain Hadron and the unkillable Sovereign!

Don't forget to check out the Breast Cancer Fundraiser either. Paint the City Pink is a painting competition with some amazing prizes donated by amazing companies. All the minis entered are then auctioned off to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

New Interstellar and French Dystopian Goodies!

As I said a couple of days ago, the blog is going to be quiet for the next week or so due to work.
But then I found these goodies for Dystopian Wars and just had to share them!

Above - The Invaders!
A classic Victorian sci-fi look to mix up your games of Dystopian Wars and run some really interesting scenarios or campaigns.
These are from Studio Sparta. Part of Spartan Games

A couple of pics for scale against other DW minis

They could also fit into a 28mm game if you wanted them to.

Once I get into DW abit more I'm sure I will be picking up afew of these. I love the look of them.
They will make great Villains in Pulp City as well!

Here is what Studio Sparta has to say about them-

 INVADERS
They came from outer space... and landed in Studio Sparta!

We love Victorian super science fiction. We also love the idea of alien invaders descending to Earth and obliterating all who dare to stand before them! Sooner or later, we knew we would bring these two things together and so the idea of the
Invaders was born. In the best tradition of aliens everywhere, we saw them landing on Earth and, well, you get the picture...

We’ve designed the Invaders to be a fun concept for gamers to add something different to their playing experience, and you don't really need us to tell you that they work superbly well in the Dystopian Wars world. Although they are not part of the core timeline of the Dystopian world, they offer you a chance to create a wonderful new facet of Victorian super science fiction. If you’ve ever wanted to play out a classic War of the Worlds scenario in the alternate world of Dystopian Wars, now is your chance.
The current Invaders range consists of their intimidating Walker war engines and swarms of insect-like flying support craft. However, over time we will add more varied and different units to this baseline as ideas emerge from our suitably deranged minds! Our intention is that you will be able to field whole armies of these strange, deadly bio-mechanical creations.

But it’s not only in Dystopian Wars where the Invaders can walk. The models have been designed to fit comfortably with almost any scale of miniature. Just imagine the Invaders attacking units of 15mm scale Firestorm Invasion Terran infantry, or marvel as 10mm scale Dindrenzi armour is pulverised by devastating weapon systems onboard an Invader Hive ship.
You could even see crack teams of 28mm soldiers and reckless scientists taking on a mysterious new threat. When you stand a 28mm scale miniature next to an Invader medium class Walker it looks very cool.
No gaming table is safe from their relentless march! Go on, indulge yourself...
NOTE: When the Invader models ship a downloadable PDF will be available from this web site with rules and statistics that allow them to be used within the Dystopian Wars game.

Talking of getting into DW more, Spartan Games have been tempting me with new ships for my French fleet.
With large and medium flying battleships there was only 1 size missing.

Enter the Alma class frigate!

Rebuplique of France players will soon have the option to run an entire Naval Battle group of skimming / flying ships!
How cool is that?

Republique of France Alma Class Frigate
The most famous technological achievement of French industry and weapons design is undoubtedly the Gravity Nullification Engine or GNE for short. This amazing device, developed with the assistance of ‘liberated’ Antarctican technology, has seen France’s naval forces develop not only a line of strikingly unique ship designs, but also a wholly new battle doctrine.
The relatively small size of French fighting formations on the ground is easily offset by their access to the crushing power of naval gunfire support even when many miles from the nearest coastline. The sleek lines of the Magenta II battleships and Marseille Class Cruisers cast long shadows over the Republique’s enemies in every sense of the word.
Just recently, these mighty vessels have been joined by another ship class, one that represents a major step forward in the development of GNE technology. The swift and streamlined Alma Class Frigate mounts the sophisticated Mark VI, the first production GNE powerplant small enough to mount in a vessel of its size.

The Alma is designed to provide fast-moving fire support and scouting capability to France’s flying navy. The frigate is swift and agile enough to take the fight to true aircraft, always a point of vulnerability for the larger GNE craft in service. When operating alone, squadrons of Almas also make superb commerce raiders, as well as mounting lightning strikes on enemy ports through their ability to bypass many conventional defences.

The personnel of the French light naval forces refer to the Alma as the ‘flying barracuda’. It is finding favour with particularly aggressive captains, and roving packs of these ships will surely savage unwary enemy craft wherever they might be found. No corner of any battlefield is now beyond the reach of the navy of France.

A Word From The Designer
The Republique of France made their big splash with the Magenta Battleship long before they became a fully developed faction and that one model set an impressive benchmark for the following ships. We’d made the decision not to focus the French too much on their surface skimming ships, giving them a plethora of tanks, fixed-wing aircraft and airships to keep the players amused, but in the end the sheer fun of skimming ships dragged us back; after all we only needed one more to have an entire basic battle group for players to utilise. When the time came to give the French a pair of upgrades the Alma Class Frigate was first on the list.

Much like one of my personal favourites – the Geier Class Bomber – the Alma uses it’s supposed hydrodynamic form as an aerodynamic form, giving the model a lovely sense of contrast and appeal. The appeal here is the classic tumblehome hull so synonymous with our French ships, streamlining the rest of the superstructure and hull features to emphasize those lines. What’s left is almost a dart or more of a classic airship shape that stands out vividly on the table. The Alma also boasts a nifty 360 degree turret, unlike the restricted arcs of the naval Lyon Class Frigate.

There will be more on my own fleet very soon. But for now I have to get back to work.

Coldfire - Scientist of the Supreme Alliance

The next piece of concept art from the Pulp City Facebook page
Coldfire. Member of the classic Supreme Alliance

Coldfire: Fight fire with fire? Who said that? We use fire against ice and chemical ice against fire. Coldfire is a prime example that nerdy scientists don't have to turn big & green to become respected Supremes.

If the model ends up being anything like the artwork (recent minis have been almost identical) then this is going to be amazing!

The blog is going to be a bit quieter over the next 10 days or so as work is going manic.
I will post what I can, when I can. There will definitely be updates to 'Paint the City Pink'

What is that you ask?

Its a Breast Cancer fund raising painting competition with some AMAZING prizes. You can see the full details >>HERE<<

Spybreaker - Leader of the Supreme Alliance

Another new preview from the Pulp City Facebook page

Codename: Spybreaker. The scourge of Soviets. The Cold War living legend. America's last line of defence.

Once again, a great piece of art leading up to the Supreme Alliance. Pulp City's first Supreme team.
To check out the other that have been seen so far see one of my posts from a couple of days ago >>HERE<<

I know what your thinking
Its just more news. And more about Pulp City. Wheres your minis and games?
Well there are 2 reasons for all the news recently.

1- A mix of injury, work, playtesting, young child and no pennies has meant I have had very little time for any building, painting or games that I can report on.

2- I'm abit of a PC super fan and love all the news they have had recently. Not being a well known game I want to get the info out there to as many people as possible. The more that see it means the more that try it, like it and keep playing it! Everybody wins!

On the topic of PC news there have also been a couple of other little hints recently.
The main one being the mention of an expansion in the new rules (due next year) for BOOS, otherwise know as Build Our Own Supremes!
Ever wanted to play Pulp City with a Supreme of your own creation? Soon you will be able to!

That's all for now but I have all sorts to come soon. Including a charity fundraiser, painting and playing Pulp City (Supremes and scenery) and my first steps into Dystopian Wars with a French fleet of flying battleships!

Atomic Armadillo Man-Beast!

AKA - A-Beast. But how awesome is his full name?
Best name in the game so far in my opinion.

The newest Supreme artwork for Pulp City's new Supreme Alliance team.

From the Facebook post
A-Beast. To all crazy scientists - when you test radiation on humans in New Mexico, make sure there is NO armadillos around. Or else the Atomic Armadillo Man-Beast (shortened by Supreme Alliance spokesperson) will come knocking at your door!

A radiated part armadillo man that's 'Hulked Out'. It doesn't get much cooler than that.
Morf at Pulp city has also stated he will be at least twice normal figure size. 65mm roughly.

If the artwork is anything to go by, he wont fit on a 40mm base and probably too small for an 80mm Monster base.
Does this mean Pulp City will be getting 50mm bases for HUGE Supremes soon?
Cant wait to see the (not so) mini.

The Supreme Alliance is a classic all American team and probably the first Supreme team the city had ever seen.
Other members include

Battlesuit 7
Codename: Unknown

Perun

There are still 3 known members that have not been seen yet.
If the Supremes so far are anything to go by, the others will be stunning.
Keep an eye out for them.

'Super J' Charity Mini from Weird WWII

Brian at the Weird WWII Blog has had a mini made of and for his son Jason who suffers from Friedreich's Ataxia
This mini is for sale and 100% of the proceeds go to the Friedreichs Ataxia Research Alliance.

You can find the full post >>HERE<< or read it below

This gaming mini was made in the image of our son Jason and his sidekick, Snakie.  Jason was born with a rare genetic disease called Friedreich's Ataxia.  This is a degenerative disease that attacks many areas of the body, including the brain, spinal cord and heart.  There is currently no treatment for Friedreich's Ataxia and it is a life-shortening illness, so we're trying to raise money for the Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA).  This organization is our only hope for a cure.

Jason has a quickly advancing case and is losing his ability to walk, see and speak clearly.  He also suffers from heart disease and skeletal problems. Since there is currently no treatment for Friedreich's Ataxia, raising money for FARA is really our only recourse.  Jason is a happy boy enjoying a great childhood and we want him in our lives as long as possible!  As many of you know, I use to own What The?! Miniatures and it was my son's diagnosis that led me to sell it off so that I could better make him more comfortable.  Since he loves minis we thought his own mini would be awesome!  We are selling Super J minis on eBay, where all proceeds will be automatically donated to FARA through MissionFish.

Aaron Brown was kind enough to donate his time and skills to sculpt Super J for us and Forrest Harris generously cast Super J for us, free of charge. We are very grateful for their help!

The Super J mini comes unpainted and is in the 28mm range (actually 18mm in height since his just a little kid after all) on a round 20mm slot base. The one pictured here was painted by my pal Simon Bradley.

For $10, with free shipping, you can get a great miniature for a great cause!

AUCTION

Thank you,
Brian, Amy, Jason and Lola

PS
Feel free to use the pics to plug the mini on your own blogs or other forums that you might think would be interested.  Every bit of exposure just might help my little boy live a longer and more comfortable life.
The real "Super J" with sidekick "Snakie"

UPDATE!!!!
You are all great and with your support we sold out within hours.  I will be getting some more minis by the end of the week so if you missed out you can get some then.  I'll post the new auction link when I have the minis in hand.
Again, I am humbled by all the support and want to thank you all,
Brian, Amy, Jason and Lola

UPDATE, UPDATE!!!!
I just got a restock of Super J and they will be available for sale starting Monday.  Thanks again for all the support.
You all rock!

Breast Cancer Fundraising

Next month (October) is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Along with this blog going PINK I will be trying to raise some funds for the BCA charities.

First off will be the amazing Ltd Ed mini pictured above. Kindly donated by Cool Mini or Not.
A Dark Age Sister of Compassion cast in pink resin. As far as I know there are only 52 copies of this model that exist in the pink resin.
Some of them went out to the donors at our Breast Cancer Brawl event but I still have 23 copies of this amazing mini left.
What if you don't play Dark Age? Well...... Use it in any other game as anything you like! Or paint her up, or even just keep her as she is in your collection.

Starting in October I will be opening a donation tab with a running total of how many minis are left. You can buy one for as much as you want to donate. 100% will be going to BCA charities.

Along side that I want to run a Paint the City Pink  competition.
People paint up a Pulp City mini in a pink scheme and send it in. All minis will then be auctioned off to raise even more funds for this great cause.

I hope to be able to find donations for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for the painting contest as well.
If you can help out with that bit or know anybody that can, please get in touch using 'Email Hendybadger' link to the right>>>>>>

That's all for today folks.

There will also be a small P+P charge. (only about £1)

Battlesuit 7 and Painted Green Emperor

The first pic in todays update is the AWESOME Battlesuit 7 from Pulp City.
A member of the Supreme Alliance, Pulp City's first ever Supreme team.

Battlesuit7. A very retro ( he was born in 1920's) suit of armor with a rocket jetpack and a ton of guns.

A guy wearing a tank, with a cutback! It doesn't get much better than that in my eyes!
I am loving this Supreme Alliance team. Cant wait to see the others.

As well as the picture above, another has been posted to the Pulp City Facebook Page today.
The first painted shot of the Green Emperor. L3 Villain leader of the Jade Cult.

Here is a frontal view of the mini taken at Salute this year.

With the amount of recent updates, models and artwork I think things are looking up for Pulp City.
If you don't play already, check it out and post your thoughts below.

You can also check out more of the artwork for upcoming Supremes and models in a post on here - Future Heroes and Villains

Finally for today, I know there has only been news on here recently but there are a couple of reasons for that.
1) Suffered a wrist injury afew days ago so modelling and painting has been a great big NO. Just cant do it yet. (In fact its a struggle to type)
2) The games I have managed to fit in recently have been some playtesting for a future game. Which means I cant report on that yet. (I will let you know when I'm allowed to though)

Name this Pulp City Supreme!

From the Pulp City Facebook Page. Your chance to name an official Hero for new Supreme Alliance team in Pulp City!

"Contest with no prizes: We struggle with finding the right name for this agent babe. She works closely with Spybreaker, the leader of the Supreme Alliance, probably the first (chronologically) team in Pulp City and is highly trained in espionage, martial arts and firearms. She spent a lot of time as a double agent working for Soviet intel in 60's but her heart always beats to the sound of the Star Spangled Banner. Her other team-mates are Battlesuit 7, A-Beast, Coldfire, Aquanaut and ... Perun. The concept by multi-talented Sergus."

Well, it says no prizes but the winner does get to name an official character for the game!
With the 'Avengers' style team and looking at the other names, I have gone for Patri-ette.

Time to get you mind control helmets ..................... I mean thinking caps on!

Really looking forward to this team. Some great names that seem to point towards some well known characters from another dimension. Earth 616 I think.
A while back they also posted a teaser image for Battlesuit 7

Another team mate, Perun, already exists.
