The Best Super Hero Game Ever?

Is Pulp City the best Super Hero tabletop game ever?
The way the Kickstarter is going sure makes me think it is!

There are so many awesome character appearing and there is still 12 days to go as I type this.
The Pulp team are already working on more sculpts for the unlocked models. Above you can see the WIP for Rosie 'Baby' Rude. A new Hero Powerhouse with mechanical gloves which help her swing a massive steel girder.

Before I get to the most recent additions to the PC lineup in this update, I just want to remind everyone you have ONE DAY left to claim your FREE Guerrilla as part of any Supreme or higher pledge.
How can anyone say no to a Gorilla with a Minigun?

There are some weird and wonderful things getting added during campaign.
The latest free add-on are these nasty looking Ankle Biters. Piranhas are nasty, but with robo legs and gills? That's just pure EVIL!

Next up we have the Jado Oni. A dangerous Eastern demon with a sword that can easily cleave a man in two. This guy add some serious hitting power to the ranks of the Jade Cult.

The Ulthar factions is a mix of water based alien races. The newest is Kithairon. An Ulthar Leo 'battle cat'.
The artwork has a very familiar colour scheme. Do you 'have the power' to take this beast into battle?

Amok is a new Powerhouse for a new faction. The Way of Fist and Blade. A mix of martial artists that come from both the good AND bad sides of Pulp City. A big red 'hulking' beast is sure to be a scary sight on the mean streets of the city.

After Amok there are some very interesting looking stretch goals.
What do you think they are?

A well loved faction in Pulp City is the Forgotten. Old dark gods, demons and monsters. With only 2 members so far, the $90K mark starts the Forgotten expansion and the Pulp Kickstarter Phase 4.
That first goal looks a LOT like a lady from the original Pulp City rule book.

It's not just the pledges going up that unlock new goodies. The amount of backers also helps the project unlock more special Supremes for the new Grimm faction. Even if its only $1, it all helps.
At the moment the Kickstarter is only 29 backers from unlocking a rock powered Grimm.
If it hits the 500 mark, I think we may see some sort of Grimm Symbiote.

At the top of the page you may have spotted the Kicktraq box. This will be staying there for the next 12 days so you can see at a glance how the project is going. Clicking on it takes you to the Kicktraq Pulp City page where you can find out all sorts of stats and details.
If you have a blog or website it would be a MASSIVE help if you could also put up one of these boxes until March 1st.
Even if you aren't backing the Pulp City Kickstarter (link) yourself, it would really help get the word out to others that could love the project but haven't seen it yet.
ToaTS would also be happy to return the favour sometime!

That' all for now folks, but I expect there may be even more goodies very soon.
Until then,

Do You Want A Gorilla With A Minigun?

Would you like a huge Gorilla with a massive minigun?
Of course you would!!!!

Well, for this weekend only, the Pulp City Kickstarter is giving them away for FREE!!!

How cool does Guerrilla look?
This update to one of the first ever Pulp City miniatures would look great in loads of other games as well.

He isn't the only new goodie on the KS project though. The recent stretch goals include a couple of DC inspired Supremes.

Which of these do you like the look of the most?

All of these models are, or can be, added to the Supreme level pledge of $90 and are all included as part of the amazing Collectors pledge!
The Collectors level is great if you really want to get into the game or if yourself and several friends want to play with different things. $600 for WELL over $1200 worth of models. Including the VERY rare Red Baron and HUGE 6" resin Monster.

The unlocked addons and freebies are currently at an additional 32 models as I type this.

So, head over and check out the Pulp City Supreme Edition Kickstarter for these great deals and fantastic models.
The 'sweet spot' to look at if you don't want the entire range is 'Supreme'. It already includes more than double the miniatures it started with and even more are planned to be added.

New for Pulp City - Terror Cotta Warriors + The Green Emperor

Two new Supremes have been shown for Pulp City. The first is the Terror Cotta Warrior for the Jade Cult.
A high-tec robot disguised as an ancient statue. Sent into Pulp City via shipping containers by the Green Emperor where they wait to be activated when he needs them.

The Terror Cotta Warriors (TCWs) are Level 2 Tank Villains. They are different to other villains though as they are the first Supreme in the game you can take multiples of!
When fielding the Green Emperor in a Jade Cult team, you can take up to 3 of these nasty creations!
To help tell the difference between them, they have 3 different faces. A tech face, statue face and the underlying circuitry. (below)
They also come with an alternate spear arm. (not shown)

As with other Pulp City recent releases, they are VERY close to the original artwork.

The TCWs have an awesome, if a little gruesome, background story. Check it out >HERE<
They are due out this month as part of the new release schedule, 2 blisters a month, if all goes well along side the Green Emperor himself.

The Green Emperor is a Level 3 Leader Villain for the Jade Cult and a new threat to Pulp City itself.
A Dragon spirit that keep reliving an endless cycle, this incarnation has broken free!
I don't want to give away too much about him as the background is fantastic. You can read it >HERE<

Below are a side shot of the amazingly painted model and the original artwork to show just how close to the design the mini is.

What do you think of them?

The Green Emperors background mentions some other character like the Tiger, Phoenix and Queen Oni. Do you think these will appear in the game in the future?

The Pulp City Supreme Edition Open Beta is still running. Head over to the Pulp City Forums and let them know what you think of the new rules.

(Apologies for the spacing in this post. Something went wrong and I cant work out how to fix it!)

Pulp City Avengers Additions and WIP (2012 11+1)

Before I get into the PC Avengers pics and such there are a couple of things all Supers fans need to see.
First up, Doc Warlock over at the Pulp City Planet Blog has posted some stunning Pulp City Supremes concept art by Melvin de Voor (creator of Hendybadger)
If you like that, you can see more on my post about Future PC Supremes >>HERE<<

Next, well, I don't think this needs explanation of why its so awesome (click any pic to view larger)

On to the point of the blog now.
Although I haven't actually 'finished' painting any models this month I have started 10. Got the base coats on lots of my Pulp City Avengers.

The big 4!
Nuclear Jones / Iron Man, Tritonious / Hulk, Sovreign / Captain America (Bucky) and Perun / Thor
Im happy with Iron Man but not sure on a couple of bits with the others.
Should Hulks boots be blue like his belt and symbol?
Should Caps trousers be blue like his coat?
Should Thors body suit be blue like his tights? And should his boots and belt be gold instead of yellow?
What do you think?

 3 Long standing Avengers.
Arquero / Hawkeye, Red Riding Hoodo / Scarlet Witch and Trail / Vision
I wanted to do Vision abit closer to the original colours but with the massive yellow cape, yellow shorts and boots just seemed abit much.

Another 3 members.
Androida / Jocasta, Riposte / Black Widow and Kitty / Tigra
Unsure on Black Widows tiara. Stay silver or go gold?

There are 3 more I have pushed back to the next set. Captain Hadron / Hank Pym, Moonchild / Hellcat and Deadeye / Steve Rogers.
They wont be on their own though. They will be getting some new recruits!

Crimson Oni as Iron Fist

A fairly good match. Look similar and Oni is powered by a Phoenix feather similar to Iron Fists power

Solar as The Sentry

Another very close appearance. Solar uses the power of the sun, Sentry has 'The power of a thousand exploding suns'
To top that off, they both have an evil dark side. Avatar of the Jaguar and the Void

Jade Hawk as Black Panther

Apart from the obvious sex issue they have a very similar look to them.

Skyline as Moon Knight

Made for each other? Same look, uses tech, has a staff, rooftop hunter at night etc

That the team so far then. Still more to add including Minions but dont want to take on too much.
And there is the Pulp City X-Men to work on!

The painting will continue this week. With the GW paint change over I didn't want to start then not be able to use my new paints on the way as they are different. Will use them from the beginning instead.

First EVER attempt at freehand

The first time I spotted the Pulp City hero Trail I could only think of one character. Macfarlanes Spawn.

So I starter painting to see what I could do to turn Trail into my very own Hellspawn. Although this meant doing some freehand. Something I have never tried before.

Why haven't I tried it before you ask? Well, I'm 6'9" so have VERY large and not very steady hands.
But what the hell. I gave it a go any way.

What do you think so far?
All constructive criticism is welcome.

Pulp City is Invaded by Ninja Assassins! (updated)

The first of the Jade Cult Assassins has been posted up today on the Pulp City Facebook page. (Click pics to view larger)
A new type of Minion that can be taken with the other members of the Jade Cult, Heros including Crimson Oni and ,Im not certain on this last one, maybe Villains in general?
They come in pairs but the kits have a huge amount of options.
2 bodies, 4 heads and 4 weapon sets. Thats a whole lot of options.

A teaser image was posted a while back that shows a couple of the other parts.

I have also dug up the concept image that was on the PC fourm a while back. Not gratly detailed but I think the minis have captured the look, feel and movement perfectly.

I think these model look amazing. Very dynamic and wonderfuly detailed. Really looking forward to picking up a set or 2 for my Heros and Villains. Got some colour schemes in mind and I have even seen all the parts yet.
You will be able to take 1 card of them at a time, thats 2 minis, but when the Green Emporer is released he will be able to take alot more of them. A whole army of Ninjas? Yes please!

The Jade Cult Assassins are due out with the next wave of Pulp City Supremes and will be boxed with the Green Emporers daughter, the Green Serpent (shown below)
Over on the Pen and Lead Blog there is also a quick word from Morf, the head of Pulp City, on these models.

"… the batch of sculpts from James and I took them immediately to MaxMini for casting.
I got to say this is just one of my favorite batches: hyper dynamic (hey, it’s ninjas!) super sexy minis!

There are two ninja Supremes (male and female), multipart ninjas (2 body types, 8 weapons and arms, 4 heads – all very user friendly as they hold almost with no glue) and the Green Emperor who is just really menacing as he draws his sword.

But it’s not just villains – Heroes will be able to use ninjas as well, and all Hero players will be happy to see a whole new team building option that gives special bonuses if you build your team with the martial arts theme (yes, that means Chronin side by side with Chimp Chi)."

Sounds like the new models are going to give alot more options to all players. Really like the idea of a martial arts Hero team!

This is shaping up to be an amazing wave of releases for Pulp City.
With the above models there will also be Foxxy Blade, Crimson Oni, Doom Train, Night Fright, Tanuki and the Shadow Mask.

Is you want to find out more about these minis then head over to the PC Forum

 On a different topic,
If you are an email subscriber to this blog but this update hasnt arrived then please check out my last post >>HERE<<

Im off to work on some more city scenery.
