Cant wait to see what sort of creatures he brings with him aswell.

Journeyman League Core Kit
MSRP $39.99 PIP 99091
The Journeyman League for Warmachine and HORDES is Privateer Press’ first official slow-grow league. This league is designed to encourage new players to begin learning the game with their chosen faction’s battle box and then expand their collection over the course of six weeks. The Journeyman League rewards both the player’s in-game victories and their skill with a brush. In fact, eager hobbyists can enter the league and score points just for assembling and painting their models.
The Journeyman League is also a great event for veteran players looking to start a new army. For veteran players the Journeyman League offers a fun way to build their new faction as well as some unique prizes to add to their collection. The prizes for this league, a set of patches that form a Steelhead military rank, are unique to the Journeyman format. Each player will earn the center patch for joining the league, and as he progresses through the weeks and earns more points, he earns new rank patches and maybe even special championship awards to add to the centerpiece patch.
The Journeyman league core kit (PIP 99091) contains 8 centerpiece patches and 24 rank patches plus 3 different championship patches—enough for 8 players to participate in the league.
This price includes all U.S. shipping costs. International shipping will incur a $5.00 shipping fee per kit.

Journeyman League Reinforcement Kit

The Journeyman league reinforcement kit (PIP 99092) contains 4 centerpiece patches and 12 rank patches, allowing you to add 4 players to your league.
This price includes all U.S. shipping costs. International shipping will incur a $5.00 shipping fee per kit.

Now this league sounds fun. I can garuntee it will be running at North Cornwall Beasts and Bionics.
The selection of patches will be a great addition to. Something for people to keep pushing towards.
Now... what new army to start for it? Hmmmm

2011 Press Gang Mini Exchange -or- Pretty Shiny Things!!!!

Over the last few weeks a selection of Privateer Press's Press Gangers have taken part in a minitures exchange.
We were split into 3s and each person built and painted a model for the next.
I (PG_hendybadger) was chosen to do a model for  PG_Hysteresis, who did a model for PG_Maijnh, who did a model for me.
Still with me?

So, onto the minis.
PG_Hysteresis chose to paint a stuuning Minion for me after finding out I play both Mercs and Minions.
I had no idea what it was going to be until it turned up.
When it did I opened the box to find the best looking Lanyssa Ryssyll - Nyss Sorceress I had ever seen.

Isnt she stunning? Look at that cloak! Every feather has been highlighted seperatly.
And the attention to detail on all parts of the mini is fantastic.
Lanyssa is a very welcome addition to my ever groing Mercenary force.

Thank you Hysteresis. Thank you very much.

And what did I do?
After chatting with PG_Marijnh I found out he wanted to build a Mercenary force with Constance Blaize and her very own Warjack Gallant at the head.
He already had a planned colour scheme of Gold/Brass, bright Silver and Purple for them and he is a big fan of Warjacks in general. And one other thing he wanted was that, whatever I did, it would be based on something more interested than the usual sand and grass.
Then by brain started ticking!!!!
With the amout of time Blaize spends with her Cygnar allies Im sure she would have access to Cygnar tech or alteast parts. And if she upgraded Gallant then why not a Mercenary Jack aswell to give her a slight edge when working with other allies?
The Precursor look is very knightly and almost medieval aswell so I wanted to try and keep that look going.
So I give you, PG_Marijns gift

The Vanguard Knight

Its basically just a Mercenary Vanguard but with added Cygnar parts from a Centurion and a Grenadier to make it more Precursor and  knightly looking.
I added some tassles to match Blaize and Gallant from my bits box and a plume to add that little touch of medieval knight to tie it altogether.
(I know the Tower Shield is abit larger than the one I used but a Power Shield is only one letter away right?)
The base is local slate from the quarry about half a mile away then became a roofing slate on the building I work in 150 years ago. When a couple had to be replaced recently I thought that it was one of the most interesting things I could ever use to base a mini.

The Vanguard Knight is the first time I have worked mainly in metals. And it was a challenge.
But I took my time (It was finished a week late - sorry) and worked on each section stage by stage.
The pics arnt great but I hope they give a feel for the gold armour. It was blended through 8 layers to try and give it as much depth as possible while still trying to keep it looking realistic.. (I think thats why I was late)
The inner workings and light silver trim had almost as much work on them aswell. The last metal to be done was the Brass on the inside if the arms, boiler and stacks. Unfortunalty, due to rubbish photography skills, you cant see those parts very well. But I even added a touch of verdigris around select edges.

Thats enough from me for now though. If I keep going I will end up telling you the whole process brush stroke by brush stroke. And you REALLY dont want that. :)

EDIT: Just had the go ahead from PG_Hysteresis to add his mini he recieved from PG_Marijnh.
This completes the exchange circle. And none of use had any idea we were working on the same model. Honestly!
A very nice Vanguard. The check pattern looks great and the base makes it look alot more imposing

All in all I had a great time doing this mini exchange.
And I hope to get the chance to do another in the future.
Thanks to Marijnh, Hysteresis and all others involved for this great experience.

May your random number generator cubes be kind to you

New Hordes: Domination Artwork, Retribution Myrmidon and New Official Warmachine Game Trailer

In the last couple of days some stunning new artwork has shown up from PPs Lock & Load gamerfest on the Privateer Press Forums

Lets take a look ( and speculat what they might be)

Circle Orboros - Epic Baldur
Baldur has always been my favourite Circle Warlock. Cant wait to see the model for him.

Circle Orboros - New Warlock or Wolves Character

Skorne - Epic Hexeris?
Im afraid I dont know very much about Skorne

Skorne - New Warlock or Character

Legion of Everblight - Epic Vayl
3 orbs now? Looks great. And I bet she will be mean in game

Legion of Everblight - New Warlock or Character Legionnaire

Trollbloods - Epic Grissel

Minions - Farrow 2 Headed Warlock!!!!
How AWESOME is he? 2 heads! Just when I thought the Farrow couldnt get any better.......

Minions - Farrow Heavy Warbeast?
Another stunning Farrow. Loving the mech parts of this one. Will look very nice next to the War Hogs

Minions? - Possible Blindwater Gatormen Heavy Warbeast?
The Kraken? Oh I hope so. What ever it is, I know Im going to want atleast one of these.

And now for something completly different

Retribution of Scyrah - Aspis Light Myrmidon

A marvel of Iosan force mastery, the Aspis is an unmistakable sight on the battlefield. The myrmidon is equipped to manipulate its own protective field dynamically and can catch bullets with it before they strike. A stalwart guardian of its controlling warcaster, the Aspis can smash even the largest enemies backward with blows of its force-enhanced fists to keep its master safe from harm.

Looks great. I expect to see one of these in most lists when its released. Check out its 360 VEIW on the Privateer Press Main Site

And to finish of with the most amazing bit of news

Official Warmachine Game Trailer from E3
Wow. Just wow. Like the rest of the community, I am really looking forward to this. The graphics look stunning, game play seems action packed and they have captured the look and feel of the Iron Kingdoms perfectly.

Thats it for today folks.
May your random number generators cubes do you well.

Mangled Metal/Tooth & Claw game. 16 tournament places.
Tickets: £10 (£7.50 for members)
£25 First Prize
Rules Pack click here:  Iron_Gauntlet_Rules_Pack

And here is the detailed bit..........

Army Composition
The Iron Haven Tournament 2011 consists of 4 games of Hordes/Warmachine. For these games you will require two lists. Both lists must follow the guidelines laid out below. Note Minion pacts “The Thornwood Alliance” and “The Blindwater Congregation” may be used as presented in No Quarter Magazine and FoH: Minions, but proxies are not allowed. All other Hordes and Warmachine factions and contracts are permitted and tier lists, where available in print, are allowed.
New releases (such as from Wrath) are allowed as long as the rules are available by list submission date.

List one:
35 points chosen from the faction of your choice within the normal rules of army composition as laid out in the Prime/Primal rulebooks.
List two:
25 points chosen from the same faction chosen for the 35 point list. This list must include the same Warlock/Warcaster as your 35 point list. This list is a “mangled metal”/”tooth and claw” list. This means only Warlocks/Warcasters and their Beasts/Jacks can be chosen.
Your army lists must be submitted to admin@ironhavengames.co.uk by Friday 22/07/11 so as they can be checked and validated before the event.

Tournament Scoring
The title of Iron Gauntlet 2011 will be awarded to the player with the highest score based on our scoring system. There are three ways of scoring points for the Iron Gauntlet Tournament. You score for winning, drawing or losing the game. You score for the amount of Control Points you gain during the game. You score victory points for models you destroy or maul during the game.

Game Won (Warlock/Warcaster kill or Scenario win) 3 points
Game Draw (Time runs out without either player achieving a win) 2 points
Game Lost (Warlock/Warcaster lost or Scenario loss) 1 point

At the end of your game you must note along with the games outcome, how many control points you gained from the scenario and how many victory points you got from destroying
your opponents forces. Each selection is worth an equal amount of VP’s to its cost in points. For example a Titan Gladiator which is destroyed at the end of a game is worth 8 victory points to its opponent as this is how many points its owner paid for it. Units or models reduced to UNDER half strength are worth half of their points cost (rounded up) in VP’s. For example a unit of 6 Pyg bushwackers reduced to 2 models by the games end would be worth 3 VP’s, half of their cost of 5 rounded up. However if the unit was 3 models strong they would be worth nothing as they have not been reduced to under half strength.

At the end of the tournament placing will be decided by how many Tournament points each player has in this order

Game Won/Lost/Drew > Control Points > Victory Points

For example if two players have the same amount of tournament points from Games won. Their placing will then be decided by who obtained the most control points during their 4 games. If this amount is equal it will fall to Victory Points to determine the final placement of the two players.

Tournament points are also awarded for painting as follows.
Well painted models with detail and basing 2 points
Painted and based models 1 point
Unpainted models no basing 0 points
These points are added to a players Win/Draw/Loss score so make sure your models are looGauntlet good and ready to go.

Scenarios
There are four rounds to the Iron Gauntlet Tournament. Three rounds are played using your 35 point list and one round is played with your 25 point Mangled Metal/Tooth and Claw. These rounds will be played using variations of the current Steamroller scenarios.. The scenarios we are using will be revealed on the day so as to encourage the most rounded army lists possible. This prevents building with the scenario in mind. You must come with your pre selected force and adapt to the conditions of the battlefield, whatever they may be.

Cost
Entry to the event is going to cost £10 for the entire day, £7.50 for IHG members
Payments can be made by Paypal to jo-c@blueyonder.co.uk don’t forget to send it as a gift. Payments must be received by Friday 22/07/10. We recommend you email Ironhaven at admin@ironhavengames.co.uk to let us know you’ve paid just to be sure. We hope to see you there.

Hi all, just a quick post today.
Some new minis have been spotted at the Privateers Press first Lock & Load gaming event by Sam of the Guts and Gears podcast.
His reporting thread on the PP fourms can be found >>HERE<< and has lots more pictures.

Right, time for some pics.
The first one isnt really a mini. Its more of a massive.
A lifesize Ironclad!!!!

Thats alot of metal. I like it.

And keeping with Cygnar, a possible new plastic Jack kit

One of my faourite Jacks from the new Wrath expansion

Next we have one of the sculpters mock ups of the Circle Orboros Battle Engine.

I dont even play Circle but I want one of these. Cant wait to see what it looks like when its finished.

The begginings of a flying Skorne Warbeast

Going to be keeping a close eye on the progress of this one. As I know already that a couple of the local players will be picking it up.

The long awaited Epic Alexia. Paint in progress

Stunning. Just stunning. I dont think there are any other words for it.

And one of the many new additions from Battlefoam

This has just been added to my xmas list. My Warmachine Battlefoam will go very nicely ontop of this one.

So thats the new shinyness for now. But thats just the current reports from day one of 2!
Keep on checking Sams thread above for more info and reports.
