The Galley Wench has returned with her second video.
A little bit about her Pink Cryx for Warmachine
The Galley Wench is still learning to use editing software so has been playing about with animation and sound this time as well.
Shes is doing much better than me. I can barely 'link' the video here let alone edit it!
To all the Super and Supreme fans out there, keep an eye on this blog towards the end of the week for some important news.
Name - Battlesuit 7
Born - 1920s
H/V - Hero
Equipment - Retro Armoured Battlesuit with built in rocket pack and several guns
Team - Classic US Supremes
Team Mates - Spybreaker + A-Beast
There has also been talk of another suit in the area.
Tomcat. A Heroic mobile battle station. More on both when I find out.
About 6-7 years ago I got back into mini wargaming.
Over time I gathered over 10,000 pts of Tyranids! All in a very nice combination of silver and grey.
I was well known in the area for not painting ANYTHING!
After a while I was given the (now old) GW paint range and painted up a Carnifex and 2 units of Genestealers. They were only flat colours and washes.
LOTS of time goes by.
The Tyranids have gone but I find Warmachine! Unpainted Khador and Retribution came and went.
Army wise I finally settle on Pirate Mercs and manage to base coat afew minis.
My love for the game led to becoming a Press Ganger. Which also meant more painting!
A couple of WarmaHordes starter sets in base colours, washes and dry brushing.
Since that I have painted 2 minis for online exchanges and some VERY basic Supremes for Pulp City demo games.
Things needed to change!
With the release of the new GW paint range I saved and saved so I could pick up the entire set. With BOTH GW ranges now I had no excuse that I didnt have the right colour.
With that I also grabbed the old and new 'How to Paint Citadel' books. These have seemed very useful and informative for somebody that didn't know the first thing about painting.
(You wouldn't believe I passed 2 years of Art and Design in college)
To add to the books I have been collecting the painting guides in White Dwarf each month so I have a step-by-step for a massive range of colours and effects.
All I need to do now is try our all these techniques!
But I just cant decide where to start......................
This is where my wonderful readers come in.
I would like you to comment below with the minis you think I should paint first. The ones suggested the most will be the first to finally gain some colour and the progress will be logged on here.
The choices are-
Hi again all, the Badger has reclaimed his port after yesterdays raid.
Welcome to the second Badgers Booty. Gaming news that grabs my interest.
(click any pics to view larger)
This image was posted on the Citizens of Pulp City Facebook Group and has been mentioned as a new Hero. Could it be one of the 'bigger' 3D sculpted minis that have been spoken about?
The Battlesuit will either be an indy Hero or part of the announced Classic Supremes US team.
2 names were also thrown around. Tomcat and Battlesuit 7. Which ever this is, there will be the other in the future.
Next up are a couple of images that have been floating around the net over the last couple of days.
Pictures of Eiryss 3. A great looking concept with the option of different heads. A nice touch that I hope will continue in future Privateer Press releases.
There was an awesome announcement from Wyrd Miniatures yesterday. New Neverborn and Malifaux is going PLASTIC!!
With Malifaux minis going plastic I think this will be a draw to a lot of new players. I have recently started myself and with the above new minis I already want to start a second Faction. Some very twisted looking things but I think that's the attraction.
Deepwars from AntiMatter Games is coming together very nicely after their successful Kickstarter campaign.
In the last week they have posted some preview pictures of the 4 Starter Sets.
From top to bottom you have the Fortune Hunters, Dark Mariners, Ancients of Atalan and the Scaly Horde.
Being a Skirmish game set under the water I am really looking forward to picking the minis and rules up.
Think I'm going to start with the Fortune Hunters and Dark Mariners
A little bit of Blog news as well today.
Expect to see a new BIG Supreme competition in the next few days.
There are also going to be more videos from the Badgers Wench soon (see yesterdays post)
A couple of questions for my readers as well
If you could pick a mini for me to paint which would it be from -
1) The entire Pulp City range?
2) Any Warmachine Merc Pirates?
Finally for today with have a bit of news that isn't tabletop gaming.
DEADPOOL IS GETTING HIS OWN GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The trailer below is probably not safe for work or children. Or people with a nervous disposition. Or older people. Or people in general.
But you NEED to watch this!
The much loved Warmachine and Hordes Summer Rampage has returned for 2012. Privateer Press announced it today with the play kits available from August 1st.
Official Announcement-
Summer Rampage roars back to life in 2012 as an open-play event!
Bounties, Finishing Moves, and Rampages all return as warjacks and
warbeasts wreak havoc during a grueling array of tumultuous trials and
multiplayer mayhem. Introduced in 2007 as the first organized-play event
pitting WARMACHINE and HORDES players against each other, the format
focused heavily on warjack-on-warbeast combat. Mixed WARMACHINE/HORDES
events soon became the norm, and Summer Rampage evolved into a
short-format league with global map effects. For the fifth anniversary
of Summer Rampage, the event will once again focus on Bounties,
Finishing Moves, and Rampages.
The Summer Rampage 2012 Event Kit will be available August 1 and
supports any number of players. The kit contains awards for Artisan,
Arcane Mechanik, Beast Handler, Dominator, and Rampager.
The rules and ordering info can be found >>HERE<<
The Prize kit is stunning. Check it out.
Cant wait to give this event a go. Some of the finisher moves look like fun.
Hopefully we will be seeing the event at the Giants Lair over the next couple of months.
PP have also posted a new and updated Errata. Not too much has changed, just a couple of clarifications.
Worth checking out though to see what effects your own forces.
You can find it HERE on the PP Forums
Off to the Lair again tomorrow so I will see you all again at the weekend.
As of yesterday I am officially a PG again. What does this mean for the blog? It means you will be seeing abit more Warmachine and Hordes including news, events and my own projects.
I also have a new base or 2 to work out of.
The first is The Giants Lair in Plymouth. A big 2 storey venue with a growing WarmaHordes following that includes a store, bar, food and more awesome tables than you can imagine!
You may have even seen it online if you have watched any videos from The Joey Berry on Youtube. If you haven't, you need to check them out!
The second venue is Troll Trader. A new store opening in Truro next month (about the 14th I think).
Troll Trader is already an established business but they want to open a store with more gaming and kick off games like Warmachine with all sorts of events.
That's it people!
Time is up for claiming from the Super 100,000 Giveaway!
The top prize was not claimed. Instead of picking a comment that didn't make the grade the first time, there will be another competition in the next week so EVERYBODY gets another chance.
But it wont be just the big Pulp City prize. There will also be a BIG Reaper Chronoscope prize as well!
Keep an eye out for it.
For those that did get hold of me, your prizes will be with you soon.
If its still not cliamed by tomorrow night (GMT) EVERYBODY will get another shot at it!
Not only that prize though....... there will also be a second big prize.
A nice big lot of Reapers Chronoscope figures!
Thats all for now. As any good Pirate should be doing tonight, I have a Beer Festival to go to! YAR!
