Knight Models February Releases - Riddler Crew, Green Lantern and More

After a well deserved break in January, Knight Models have started the year with a set of fantastic releases for February.

DC Universe Miniature Game Releases

Green Lantern and Sinestro are two highly anticipated models. We are getting closer to being able to run the original Justice League with the addition of Green Lantern. All we need now is a Martian Manhunter model.

Both characters look to be very powerful and are the first options for either a Green Lantern Corps or Sinestro Corps team.

Batman Miniature Game Releases

Another highly anticipated release, the classic Riddler Crew is a nice alternative to the The Riddler and Bot Army, if you prefer a more classic look for your Riddler crew.
The first sidekick for the Riddler crew, Quelle is a perfect companion to the classic look of the new Riddler Crew.
Another less known Batman villain and a one time member of the Suicide Squad, let's hope the Electrocutioner is more of a challenge to Batman than their encounter in Arkham Origins.

Emperor Penguin is much more menacing alternative to either the original Penguin Leader or the Gotham TV Show Penguin Leader.

A cheaper way of expanding your Harley Quinn Crew.

The Joker half of the Suicide Squad Set

Knight have posted up a shot of the second crew in the upcoming Suicide Squad box set for the Batman Miniature Game.

Jared Leto's Joker takes Margot Robbie's Harley and a bunch of dressed up goons onto the table.

What do you think of this set?
Which side would you rather play?

Batman January Releases! Animated Harley, Court of Owls, Hawkgirl, Cyborg and more!

Yay! The Knight Models January releases are up for the Batman Miniature Game.
First up is Animated Harley Quinn. Like the other animated models, she is low Rep with basic rules. This time she is a 40 Rep, $200 Free Agent for the Joker armed with her own little pop-gun.

The second Court of Owls box is the one I've really been waiting for. Led by a classic white masked Leader, the 3 generations of the O'Malleys from the Talon comic bring a lot of new options to the Court and up them enough to compete in 350Rep games.

I never expected to see Hawkgirl appear in the game but I'm very happy she has. With Legends of Tomorrow starting next week, Kendra Saunders can be added to an Arrow or Batman crew as a 99 Rep Free Agent armed with an Nth Metal Mace!

Another unexpected release is Victor Stone aka Cyborg. A 123 Rep, $500 Sidekick for Batman means you can start a small Justice League or even Teen Titans.

The final model this month is Catman. I don't really know much about this character but hes a nice looking model that cant be taken with any crew except Law, Joker or Lexcorp.

The finish off the month's releases, we have some Watchmen markers and an MDF Construction Set to add a bit more flavour to your boards.

Which are you favourites this month? For me it has to be the Court and Hawkgirl.

New Knight Models Batman + Marvel Releases

It's that time of the month again folks, Knight Models have posted up their new Batman and Marvel releases.
I know I have said they are getting better each time, but this month they have really stepped it up and cranked out some stunning minis.

Rocket Raccoon, core member of the Guardians of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Although the Marvel models don't have rules yet, I'm glad he's out now for when the game happens.
Plus the model looks awesome.

Jason Todd a.k.a Red Hood. The second Robin turned bad then good(ish) again.
Red Hood is a 88 Rep $500 Free Agent for a Batman crew. Armed with Dual Handguns, the Takedown ability and the Arkham Knight themed Teamwork, he's a great addition.

Azreal, crusader for the Church of St.Dumas and potential replacement for Batman.
At 77 Rep and $150, Azreal adds a lot of Blood Damage as a Free Agent for Batman. His Sword of Sin is Sharp, has Crit Fire and even rolls two Crit dice and uses BOTH results.

Harley Quinn gets some help in the form of a Henchman pack. 38 Rep and $250 together they ar a good boost to her crew and the addition of an RPG will cause issues to the bigger foes.

Hugo Strange, creator of Arkham City leads his patients into the battle. Able to control and boost Henchmen with Mental Disorder Traits, Hugo is a bargain at only 44 Rep. He can be taken as a Free Agent with the Riddler, League of Shadows, Black Mask and Organised Crime.
The Arkham Inmates cost 67 Rep for the Free and can be taken by any Villain crew, They are better alongside Hugo though.

Previewed here recently, the Riddler appears with a whole Bot army.
The key points of this new crew are three different types of Bot that can be taken up to three times each and the fact they don't use normal objectives. Each model can lay down Clues during their activation and the VP per turn is worked out by the amount on the table. The opponent can remove them though!

Batman and Law Forces get a new Objective in the form of the Bat Signal.
This can be marked as On or Off by manipulating it and gives VP at the end of the round depending on the setting. It also has room to add an LED if you really want it to work.

Finally are some Riddler and Red Hood markers. Used for Willpower, Action Counters, Ammo or whatever you like.

What do you think of this new batch of releases?
Will you be picking any of them up?

I'm off to place a sizeable order!

A Closer Look at Arkham Asylum

Hi all!
I did say I would give you a better look at the wonderful Arkham Asylum from Knight Models so here we are.
I have set up a little sample game so you can see how big it is compared to the minis from the Batman Minis Game. I will also state again that this is a 'prototype' and not the final kit so you will see a couple of areas where I have tweaked it a little. These have been reported back to KM and have been fixed already for production.

Guarding the front gate are a pair of angels. The base of the one on the right looks a little off as I wanted the wings on each to be central. It's an impressive entrance.

Inside the courtyard are a couple of watch towers. The Arkham guards are always armed a willing to stop an escapees. You may recognise these towers from the Arkham City game island.

Joker, Harley and a couple of goons walk out of the front door. I have added an extra step in front of the door to cover a small gap that was there.

The Green Arrow and his trusty Sidekick Speedy are perched on the roof ready for trouble.
Just to the right of Speedy you can see a small arch I have added to the parapet to cover another small gap.

Two Face and the Riddler climb out on to the balconies for a better look at the courtyard.
Beside the fence here there are a couple of panels i have added that could become electrical boxes. These cover a couple of holes the fences didn't quite line up to.

Another look at the front steps with Harley happily strolling towards the police.

The watchtowers are the perfect vantage point for Batman. He can zip up to them and even duck away in the guards hut if needed for extra cover.

The towers also have more than enough room to move around for a full view of the area.
I had to add the Arkham City Batmobile in the middle as that's where it spends most of the game parked.

Shortly after taking these photos, I got carried away with spray cans.
Lots more to do yet, but it's starting to take shape.

More soon,

Batman Exclusive Preview - Arkham Knight Harley Quinn Crew

Knight Models have just sent over an awesome preview. The first of their Arkham Knight releases.
A Harley Quinn Crew box!

After the events of Arkham City and the loss of her Puddin', Harley has lost it even more.
She has gathered together a selection of thugs and wants to take down B-Man once and for all.

The model is a great representation of Harley from the game. Darker and nastier than before. Her 'boys' bring along some new weapons as well. A sawn-off shotgun, jackhammer and chainsaw!!!!

Harley works as a new Leader model for the Joker crew. At 80 Rep and packing an SMG, she can cause a lot of problems on here own.
Harley's Special Traits of Bluff, Escape Artist and Play Nice show she has her 'boys' under control and trained to fool their opponents just like she can and if Mr J can't lay his hands on her any more, nobody can!

Being Joker Affiliation also means that this new Crew box already has a TON of Joker thugs already out that can be added to Harley's forces and an equipment list in the rulebook ready to go.

What do you think of Arkham Knight Harley Quinn and her crew?

Batman (painting) Begins! The Arkham Dozen!

Just as I started to sort out some painting for my Batman minis from Knight Models, a challenge appeared.
Drew in the Arkham City Limits Facebook group has started the Arkham Dozen challenge.
A way for a group of people to keep each other motivated while having fun and getting some painted minis on the table.

The Arkham Dozen challenge is 12 Batman Game minis over 12 months. Minimum of one finished model a month. If everyone finished before that, another batch will start.
My initial choices are......

Arkham Batman and Arkham Robin. A 200 Rep starter gang.

Arkham Joker, Arkham Harley and two clowns. Another 200 Rep starter gang to face Batman.

Speedy, Green Arrow and Black Canary. 260 Rep (not quite legal) gang.

Nyssa al Ghul, Origins Deathstroke and a Ninja. 260 Rep to face Team Arrow.

The VERY rough base coats are down and I think I'm going to go with the well known schemes on all models. I haven't painted in a very long time so don't want to go for anything too adventurous to begin with.
The selection may change as the challenge goes on depending on releases. If something appears that I prefer it will make its way to the front of the queue.

I will keep the blog updated with the progress as I go.

Right, back to the painting table.

Great Batman Articles on Cheaphammer and Crits Kill People

Over the last few weeks there have been some great articles out there about the Batman Minis Game from Knight Models. Some of the best have been on two blogs. Cheaphammer and Crits Kill People.
I thought I would share a few of my favourites on here.

Cheaphammer has recently started a series of articles called Head to Head.  These compare differnt versions of the same character on a few different points and see which one comes out on top.
The first was Harley Quinn. Arkham vs Classic.

For the secnd Head to Head article, Cheaphmmer took on the mighty Bane. Titian vs Origins vs DKR Movie.
Keep an eye on thier blog to see who is up next.

As well as the HtH articles, Cheaphammer attended the first official UK Batman tournamnet with the gang pictured above. You can see the full report HERE.

Crits Kill People also has a series of articles called Feature Friday.
One of the most recent ones is a great look at the Free Agent Killer Croc and how to go about using him.

The next Feature Friday on Crits Kill People is all about How to Make Out with Poison Ivy. A in depth look at Ivy's Mortal Kiss ability.

Keep an eye on this two blogs over the coming months. I'm sure they will be packed full of more great content.
