Knight Models December Releases - The Dynamic Duo, Black Adam, Lex Luthor and More

These are the releases from Knight Models for December. They are available for purchase now from retailers and online.

DC Universe Miniature Game Releases

Black Adam and Lex Luthor Warsuit are the first standalone models for DC Universe Miniatures since the Trinity Box Set release in November. At 16 points, Black Adam is naturally going to be compared to Superman and Hulk and from a brief look over his rules he look more than a match for them.

At 11 points, Lex Luthor Warsuit looks to be a fantastic leader of an Injustice League team.

Batman Miniature Game Releases

Some cool new additions to the Batman Miniature Game this month. Firstly a new Batman and Robin with some great rules for using the two of them together but both could definitely be taken alone.

A new villain sidekick for Black Mask's crew and a lesser known villain from Batman's back catalogue. It is really cool that Knight Models recognise these lesser known heroes and villians.

A nice box set to add to your Law Forces crew, especially if you don't fancy the same old police officers.

A great way of expanding your Mr Freeze crew, finally released in November, without buying the whole box set again.

A really handy kit for determining light and explosion radiuses. It's extra nice that they include a template for 30mm and 40mm bases.

A Closer Look at Arkham Asylum

Hi all!
I did say I would give you a better look at the wonderful Arkham Asylum from Knight Models so here we are.
I have set up a little sample game so you can see how big it is compared to the minis from the Batman Minis Game. I will also state again that this is a 'prototype' and not the final kit so you will see a couple of areas where I have tweaked it a little. These have been reported back to KM and have been fixed already for production.

Guarding the front gate are a pair of angels. The base of the one on the right looks a little off as I wanted the wings on each to be central. It's an impressive entrance.

Inside the courtyard are a couple of watch towers. The Arkham guards are always armed a willing to stop an escapees. You may recognise these towers from the Arkham City game island.

Joker, Harley and a couple of goons walk out of the front door. I have added an extra step in front of the door to cover a small gap that was there.

The Green Arrow and his trusty Sidekick Speedy are perched on the roof ready for trouble.
Just to the right of Speedy you can see a small arch I have added to the parapet to cover another small gap.

Two Face and the Riddler climb out on to the balconies for a better look at the courtyard.
Beside the fence here there are a couple of panels i have added that could become electrical boxes. These cover a couple of holes the fences didn't quite line up to.

Another look at the front steps with Harley happily strolling towards the police.

The watchtowers are the perfect vantage point for Batman. He can zip up to them and even duck away in the guards hut if needed for extra cover.

The towers also have more than enough room to move around for a full view of the area.
I had to add the Arkham City Batmobile in the middle as that's where it spends most of the game parked.

Shortly after taking these photos, I got carried away with spray cans.
Lots more to do yet, but it's starting to take shape.

More soon,

Batman: Ultra Violent

A friend, Jack Glanfield, over on the Arkham City Limits group has been doing some stunning things with his Batman minis, some UV paint and a blacklight.
As a fellow Schumacher Batman movie fan, he has taken a lot of inspiration from the 90s movies Batman Forever and Batman + Robin.

Mr Freeze's suit glowing as he goes to take another of Gotham's diamonds.

Bane switches on his Venom / Titan feed and gets pumped full of raw power.

The Batman in his experimental 'Beyond' suit calls forth his glowing Batmobile.

The Riddler is a tricky character. But under the right conditions you can always see his clues.

Batman stalks around the Gotham Museum at night, waiting for Freeze.

Its not just the models that glow. The Star Tech labs sign lights up the area.#

What do you think of the UV Batman look?
If you want to give it a go yourself, you can find the paints online at Visual Bliss.

Arkham City Limits Now Official! Jan Highlights

Penguin and Crew by Jorg Waitforit

I have mentioned the Facebook group Arkham City Limits on here a few times now as my favourite place to go for Batman Minis Game discussion and models.
Well, what was a fan group originally, has now become 100% official!
As of this week, Arkham City Limits is the official group for the Batman game with the full support of Knight Models
They even have a crew painting competition going on at the moment with the top 3 prizes being the special Talia tournemanet only card!

If that isn't enought to tempt you over to have a look, I have picked a few of my favourite images from the last month on there.

Adam Reeves has turned this Blackgate Prisoner into a Joker fan.

Adam has also created Soloman FUNdy

Andy Leighton's stunning Batman and Robin

Brandon Jackson has swapped Jokers knife out for a crowbar. Poor Jason.

Brandon has also painted up Bruce and Damien to take the Joker down

Crispian Woolford is working on a court house for Gotham. Dents building of choice.

Arkham Origins Bane by Edward Hanby

Jack Glanfield has been doing some amazing stuff with UV paint

Jack has also added large bronze statues to his board for that 90's movie feel

Green Arrow by Justin Timothy

Arkham City Batman by Kent Ing

Matthew Malcomson is creating Two Face Mobsters out of Black Mask Henchmen

ADAM WEST leads to cops. Painted by Myk Myers

Robert Zane Solo is working on a very impressive Ferris wheel for Jokers Fun Land

Scott Crowe has added extra vegetation to Ivy and her plants. Helped out by a great mettalic Deathstroke.

Wille Vertanen has DKR leader the Origins Bane Mercs. Helped out by Deadpool as a stand in for Deathstroke.

Themed Crews for Batman

When I started to plan my crews for the Batman Minis Game by Knight Models, I decided to theme them a little bit. It would give a good starting point to work from for each.

In the past I hadn't really read many big DC comics. My Batman and DC experience had been the original 4 movies, a little bit of the Arkham games and more recently the Arrow series and some of the lesser known comics. So, that became the plan!

Instead of building each crew based on one of the movies or such, I have chosen to start with the inspiration and build 2 crews from each. Some models will be repeated and some will cross over, but they are going to turn in to some fantastic games.
For the characters with different versions, I have added which one I will use. The amount of Henchmen will be used to balance the sides.

First up is -

As the Joker is the main villain in both of these, I decided to combine the two. Wanting to use Harley helped with that decision.
