Its here! A long time after this blog began, welcome to the 500th post on ToaTS!
It has been one hell of a journey to get this far. So many models, so many games, a load of events and tons of new goodies. It has been a really fun journey though.
I would like to say a massive thank you to all of the readers, followers, viewers and random clickers. If it wasn't for you all I doubt it would have made it this far. Hope you have enjoyed what you have seen so far and there is a LOT more to come. (Even if that 'real life' thing has happened over the last few weeks)
What can we do to mark this milestone? How about a giveaway!
Antimatter Games have been awesome and given us
10 PDFs of the Deep Wars Rulebook to give away to you lovely readers!
Mantic Games have also been awesome and given us 2 copies of DreadBall Kick Off edition and 2 Signed Art Prints!
You can see what is included in the DreadBall box HERE
If you want to get your hands on one of these and check out the very unique games, all you need to do is write a comment! A suitable comment though along the lines of Deep Wars or DreadBall. Sci-fi, sports, underwater, steam-punk, old ones, that sort of thing. The more imaginative the better.
Just leave your comment at the bottom of this post or under the link to this post on the ToaTS Facebook Page (link)
On June 15th we will pick 14 random winners from all of the comments and post the names up here. You will then have 2 weeks to claim your prize.
I will leave you with a selection of the stunning underwater and sporting models from the games.
Good Luck
Hendybadger awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
Congratulations on the milestone. As a ole for f rules systems, I'd be interested to read these unique, exciting underwater steam punk rules.
ReplyDeleteAnd dreadball? Yes please!
DeleteI was so tempted to get into this, sadly I was out of money for both kickstarters and then I had issues with paypal so I haven't been able to grab a copy... so who knows, I might get lucky and finally get the final push to build a Cthulhu underwater temple :)
ReplyDeleteI've been interested in this game for awhile now....And I've built an airship (steampunk reference) https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.289607337756418.95068.280260902024395&type=3
ReplyDeleteThat's very cool
DeleteCongrats on 500! Deep Wars looks awesome. That's the one kickstarter I very-much regret missing out on. Glad to see they are doing well and you have been keeping the blog going. Keep up the great work! Maybe someday I'll get take the dive into Deep Wars.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations chap! 'That is not blogged can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even laptop batteries may die...'
ReplyDeleteI already have one Dagathonan Salvager at home for my Carnevale band, but reading the whole rules of Deep Wars would be awesome! You know, you never have enough fishy friends at home :P
ReplyDeleteAt the turn of the tide this appeared from the murky depths. Looking to splash into new games after a certain citadel company has embraced the briney mistress. (Basically giving up on GW for good :( )
ReplyDeleteI'd love to read the rules on this and get into it. It's Fishmen and Steampunk and well fishes! What's not to love?
Congrats on the 500! Count me in for the drawing, this game caught my eye and I would love to read up on it more.
ReplyDeleteBig congrats on the 500th post!!
ReplyDeleteDeep Wars is something I've been looking at for a while. The miniatures are all pretty amazing and rather unique in the hobby, something seldom seen. I'd love to see how the game plays.
Best of luck Hendy on the next 500!!

ReplyDeleteNice one on hitting the 500 posts. The only thing I don't understand is how they shovel the coal in underwater.
ReplyDeleteIts more 'crystal'-punk.
DeleteI have to confess that when I first heard about Deep Wars, I thought it was a stupid idea. But apparently I was in a minority, and would live to find out what the fuss is about. I love the SOBH architecture so maybe I'll have to give it a go eventually.
ReplyDeleteWe should definitely sort out that painting-by-Skype thing at some point when the little badgers allow.
Oh yes. You will get me painting one day.
DeleteWell done and congratulations! Hear, hear, old bean! Hurrah and such. I am in on desiring one of these pdf's, because a physical book would get wet when I play the game underwater.
ReplyDeleteThat can be a problem.
DeleteThey do have some lovely models, and after some bad KS starts, I have to hand it to them, they stuck with it and got some stuff sculpted and done.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 500 Posts. I be needing me a copy of dem rules to get me another submarinie goin'. I lost me last one when we tried goin deeper than the furnace pipe allowed.
ReplyDeleteCongrats and would be rude not to be in with a shout of free rules :D
ReplyDeleteOr if you are under water gupple gupple gubble gubbble POP
DeleteI think the mixing of underwater and steam punk actually are perfect. DeepWars took this idea and expanded upon it in such an amazing way! Love it!
ReplyDeleteA quick update that I will add to the main post when I'm home.
ReplyDeleteThe awesome guys at Mantic Games have just offered us 2 copies of DreadBall Kick-Off edition and 2 signed art prints to add to be giveaway!
Huge thanks to Mantic.
wait, so does that require a different entry then?
DeleteNope. One entry will get you entered for everything
DeleteCongratulations on the milestone post.... As a longtime fan of Cthulhu mythos, steampunk, and skirmish games Deepwars was something I desperately wanted to back but did not have the cash.... The rules just might draw me in... and I need a reason to get more miniatures....
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 500. I'm very interested in this rule set. Wondering how (or if) they address swimming in the rules. I have never seen this game setting before.
ReplyDeleteJust played my first Dreadball games recently. I was impressed. Coming from BloodBowl, I wasn't expecting it to compare. But it definitely stands on it's own. Please count me in for the prize draw. That would be awesome to score.
Swimming is handled really well. The whole game is fully 3D with models able to move high above the table.
DeleteEvery time I see this game, it makes me wish I could get that tentacle graft I always wanted. As an Aquarius, I also find the game appears to have everything it takes to be a great game, Steam Punk Jules Verne vibe, Cthulhu stylings and tentacles. Everything is better with tentacles...... everything.
ReplyDeleteas an aside, anyone know how big The Abyssal Gark is?
ReplyDeletecause I'd like him to be in my CSM army, as I have a Helbrute converted to look like him.
The Gark is abut the size of a Terminator.
DeleteThere is a large Dark Mariners Bioconstruct that would work well though.
Congrats on the 500th post! My gaming blog made it to 2!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the congrats people!
ReplyDeleteDreadBall has now been added to the post.
Five hundred posts is quite the milestone, congratulations! :)
ReplyDeletegratz on the huge milestone, 500 posts is very impressive
ReplyDeleteI think Dreadball could be a better Bloodbowl and while I played once I am intrigued. Deep Wars looks interesting though I will withhold judgement until I get a better understanding.
ReplyDeleteConsider me commented.
ReplyDeleteHi Ian.
ReplyDeleteGood to have you down at the club last night, thanks for the heads up on this - here's a comment, to go towards winning a copy of Dreadball for the TAGS club :-)
It was a great night. Thanks for having us there and I hope the games went down well.
DeleteCongrats on the 500th post! Big achievement! Just like winning a game of dreadball will be against my nemesis.. BuRock! Keen to see how those rules pan out, same with the Deep Wars set!
ReplyDeletecongratulation, 500 is a pretty big number!
ReplyDeleteGeez 500 posts gosh, congrats there.
ReplyDeleteHuge respect fella, 500 is a lovely milestone.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, would love to be entered into this. In fact, I'd dread not to be in...
ReplyDeleteHendybadger scores a touchdown with this awesome giveaway and milestone! I would love a copy of Dreadball! Hendybadger is my MVP!
ReplyDeleteI know this is a random draw, but if it wasn't you would have won EVERYTHING!
DeleteWow, 500 is quite a feat! I've been blogging for four years and I'm only up to 265. Haha!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Thanks to you I can be in touch with any news of this hobby since I became father. Hope I could keep following you after my second child is born next month LOL
ReplyDeleteCongratulatios!
DeleteBecoming a dad does change your hobby a lot.
But it also means you can bring up your own little gamer!
Our second one is due Dec 7th.
Awesome looking figs, a must have by the look of things
ReplyDelete500! That's immense, congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the big 500! Deep Wars has definitely piqued my interest, especially the large scale beasties (and mecha-beasties!)
ReplyDeleteIf you like the large scale stuff, check out the latest WIP of the Giant Angler Fish
DeleteCongrats man. You know Ive been following you for a while now all through your Warmahordes phase and back, and Im happy to see your posts every week about the "little" games... specially in miniatures count!
ReplyDeleteIve been slacking recently but looking forward to see who the lucky winners are. Nice toys all around.
Warmahordes could be considered my gateway into all of these smaller games.
DeleteI may even go back to it one day. But for now the supers, sports, seas and space are far too much fun.
Hope you have enjoyed it so far and thanks for sticking with the blog for so long.
Ooh - would love a dreadball kit. I was initially in on the kickstarter but had to drop out due to money (or lack thereof).
ReplyDeleteI was the same but it just took one game to get me hooked and picking up every bit of it.
DeleteGreat work on the blog. Always good to see people post and supporting games like Deepwars!
ReplyDeleteDeepwars is a really neat game! The rules are a little confusing at first, but once you figure them out the game is a blast!
There are some smaller games out there that deserve the push. Awesome games that a lot of people would never know about otherwise.
DeleteMy plan is to change that and get the awesomeness into the public eye!
Would love to get my grimy paws on any of these prizes especially a dread ball set. Great blog as always and keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 500 posts :) here's to the next 500! Missed out on the dreadball KS and have been meaning to pick up a copy since its release, just not gotten around to it :(
ReplyDeleteWell done on hitting that 500th post!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations sir! 500 posts is quite stellar! Either of these would be great to add to my ever growing stable of soldierdoll games!
ReplyDeletebig hit! congratulation! let me in .....

ReplyDeleteWell done on the 500th :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the thanks people.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a long ride of ups and downs as well as several game changes. But it has been fun and seeing this kind of support just makes me want to keep going even more.
Congrats on the milestone, sir!

ReplyDeleteWe salute you...In Mountain Dew and bacon!!
BEST. SALUTE. EVER!!!!
DeleteI want some freebies
ReplyDeleteSomething smells fishy so im just going to go balls out on this
ReplyDeleteCongrats Ian! Now where's my free stuff? :)
ReplyDeleteMust have been lost in the post :P
DeleteThree more days.... I'm so excited! The more I look at the Deep Wars stuff, the more I'm getting hooked. (see what I did there?)
ReplyDeleteThat's great or terrible! Haha
DeleteYou had me at 'free'! :) But seriously, Deep Wars looks very cool, and Dreadball is a lot of fun. I've only played it once as it's my friend that owns it, but I did post my initial thoughts on the game on my blog. Hope you don't mind a shameless plug? http://colourofwar.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/fast-and-furious-dreadball-in-nutshell.html
ReplyDeletePlug as much as you like!
DeleteHmm, I could convert one of my 250 l aquariums to a really cool Deep Wars setting... or maybe not...
ReplyDeleteDreadball, yep, always good with new plastics in the mountain.
250? Really?
DeleteComment comment comment!
ReplyDeleteJust getting interest in Dreadball, seems to be the new upstart among gaming buddies. Think I'd right like to go Dwarves.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 500th, quite an accomplishment!!
ReplyDeleteLove the fact that you cover multiple games. Makes an ADD gamer like myself feel at home. ;)
Dreadball's starting to take off in our area and another pitch/set would make demoing the game sooo much easier, fingers crossed.
Thanks.
DeleteI try to cover as much as I can but I'm still limited by time, space and money.
I hope the ones I have chosen to focus on interest several people though.
Grats and keep up the good work!
