Upcoming WarmaHordes Events in Devon + Cornwall

Since becoming a Press Ganger again I have been hunting out Warmachine and Hordes events in the area.
Even helped plan a couple.

So I thought I would give the upcoming events abit of a shout out on here. Hopefully some of you might be able to make it along.

August 18th

 

The official Summer Rampage event will be heading for the Giant's Lair in Plymouth, Devon.

Starting at 9am there will be an entire day of casual play using the Summer Rampage using rules found >>HERE<<

£5 entry fee to cover the cost of the amazing coins!

September 1st

Troll Trader is opening a new store in the area this month and wants to kick the WarmaHordes scene off with a 25pt Steamroller.

2x50mm Objectives
2x40mm Flag objectives

WarmaHordes Summer Rampage Returns! + New Errata

The much loved Warmachine and Hordes Summer Rampage has returned for 2012.
Privateer Press announced it today with the play kits available from August 1st.

Official Announcement-

Summer Rampage roars back to life in 2012 as an open-play event! Bounties, Finishing Moves, and Rampages all return as warjacks and warbeasts wreak havoc during a grueling array of tumultuous trials and multiplayer mayhem. Introduced in 2007 as the first organized-play event pitting WARMACHINE and HORDES players against each other, the format focused heavily on warjack-on-warbeast combat. Mixed WARMACHINE/HORDES events soon became the norm, and Summer Rampage evolved into a short-format league with global map effects. For the fifth anniversary of Summer Rampage, the event will once again focus on Bounties, Finishing Moves, and Rampages.

The Summer Rampage 2012 Event Kit will be available August 1 and supports any number of players. The kit contains awards for Artisan, Arcane Mechanik, Beast Handler, Dominator, and Rampager.

The Prize kit is stunning. Check it out.

Cant wait to give this event a go. Some of the finisher moves look like fun.
Hopefully we will be seeing the event at the Giants Lair over the next couple of months.

PP have also posted a new and updated Errata. Not too much has changed, just a couple of clarifications.
Worth checking out though to see what effects your own forces.

Badger's BACK IN BLACK!

Yes, AC/DC rock!
But that's not the point of this post.

The point is the Badger is Back in Black.
What black you ask?

The black shirt of a Privateer Press Press Ganger!

As of yesterday I am officially a PG again. What does this mean for the blog? It means you will be seeing abit more Warmachine and Hordes including news, events and my own projects.

I also have a new base or 2 to work out of.

The first is The Giants Lair in Plymouth. A big 2 storey venue with a growing WarmaHordes following that includes a store, bar, food and more awesome tables than you can imagine!
You may have even seen it online if you have watched any videos from The Joey Berry on Youtube. If you haven't, you need to check them out!

The second venue is Troll Trader. A new store opening in Truro next month (about the 14th I think).
Troll Trader is already an established business but they want to open a store with more gaming and kick off games like Warmachine with all sorts of events.

Pulp City Heads for Plymouth!

Yes that's right.
Pulp City (the awesome Super Heroes v Villains skirmish game) is heading for Plymouth, Devon, UK over the next couple of weeks.

I will be running a couple of demo events at a Plymouth club and store.

On Sunday June 24th. the Plymouth Association of Wargamers are letting me destroy cities at their weekly club meet. 12pm-5pm. Directions and club details can be found >>HERE<<

Later that week I will be at The Giants Lair. Thursday 28th from 5pm-10pm. Details about the venue are >>HERE<<
The Giants Lair is also home to the 'very well known' Warhammer Joey. Maybe she might fancy a try?

If you fancy giving Pulp City a go or you already play and fancy meeting up for a game, you are more than welcome to come along to either demo.

I know the blog has been quiet for afew days but I have been quite busy. Unfortunately not with gaming.
I have managed to reach one of my goals though. I have managed to get all of the Pulp City range. (apart from the elusive June Summers)
I'm also very close to building the entire range. More than 1 of some. About 4 left to finish making.

Next up are the 2 other goals. To paint and play with all the different models! That might take abit longer.

Warhammer Joey - You NEED to check out this girls vids!

A couple of weeks ago we went to the Giants Lair in Plymouth (where I am running a Pulp City demo Night tonight if you fancy popping by)
While outside, my wife and I got chatting to a girl who had just started playing WHFB and was visiting the Lair for the first time. Really nice girl who seemed to be enjoying herself.

Last night I was at out local gaming club (North Cornwall Beasts and Bionics) and a friend was joking around said 'If your going to Giants Lair tomorrow night, get me Warhammer Joeys autograph'
I had no idea who that was until he explained.

'Warhammer' Joey Berry was the girl we were chatting to. And a while ago she started playing WHFB and posting videos on Youtube about here experiences.
Came home and checked out her page and I have to say, her videos are very entertaining and informative at the same time.
To me she comes across as a slightly less obscure Noel Fielding!

I highly recommend checking her page out and taking the time to watch a couple of her videos. You wont regret it.

Pulp City Demo Night @ The Giants Lair , Plymouth Fri 27th Apr

Tales of a Tabletop Skirmisher will be running a Pulp City demo night from around 6pm to 10pm.

Lots of big Pulp City News - Supremes, Background, Website and More. Plus PC visits the Giants Lair!

Over on the Pulp City Forums today, Morf posted up LOTS of big PC news.

I'm really looking forward to all of this.
Rounding out the current sub-factions will be great. Lvl12 teams all around! Plus there are some very interesting Supremes in there. The ones that interest me the most are the Terror Cotta Warriors and the Primates of Power. I think they will bring some very different things to the game.
Then there is the Dead Guard. The only thing we haven't heard of before.

New PDFs will be good to. And Errata and FAQ will help clear up a couple of points that keep coming up in the forums and clarify the odd rule or 2. I don't expect it to have too much in though as most of the games rules are self explanatory.
The there's MONSTERS rules! YAY! Been waiting for these rules and collecting / building Monsters since I found out about them. Will be fun to get them on the table destroying buildings and stomping Supremes.

Background, Fluff, whatever you call it, Im going to be reading through that for hours. As a big Supers fan I love reading the background stories of these beings. All the new stuff will be great for plots, agendas, and probably hints to future Supremes. Should draw people towards models they ha vent really looked at as well as creating a much more in depth scene in Pulp City with links between different characters.

100 Voices. An ominous sounding name to start with. Will it bring a new dark time to the city?

Time for abit of personal PC news.

I have been painting! Laying the base coats on several of my PCAvengers.
Not sure on three of them though.
Below is Perun as Thor, Sovereign as Cap America (Bucky) and Tritonious as Hulk with most of his outfit removed.
I have used foundation paints to sort out colour placement so they arn't the final shades. Just a rough guide.

To finish off the post for today, Pulp City had a visit to the Giants Lair in Plymouth last week.
Tyrant Swabbs seemed to quite enjoy it.
All the Beasts and Bionics players that went up had a great night and I'm sure we will be visiting again soon.
