Spartan Games Unbox the Dystopian Legions Starter Sets

Spartan Games have just posted a blog about unboxing the Dystopian Legions starter sets.
You can find it >HERE< or I have reposted it below.

Spartan Games is thrilled that Dystopian Legions – our brand new 28mm scale tabletop game set in the exciting world of Dystopian Wars, where Victorian super science fiction has created an enthralling and brutal arena for a deadly world war – is hitting stores today.

It was only when we opened our own Starter Sets that we fully appreciated just how much is packed into them, and what fantastic value for money they are. We hope this unboxing blog will help you to get a better idea of what exactly you can expect.

Empire of the Blazing Sun Starter Set contents (1 base included per model)
So what exactly does each Starter Set contain? The image above illustrates everything that comes with the Empire of the Blazing Sun Starter Set. This image can be used as a visual representation for all the Dystopian Legions Starter Sets as they will contain the same printed materials, although items such as the Game Cards, Activation Cards and Stat Sheets are nation-specific and each Starter Set will have a different set of models.

Here’s a list of what you get:
Highly-Detailed Miniatures: Each of the first four Starter Sets contain 12-14 highly-detailed miniatures. Each miniature is pewter with the exception of the Prussian Empire Teutonic Knights, which is a combination of resin and pewter, and the Kingdom of Britannia Sky Hussars, which are pewter miniatures with resin smoke plumes.
Model Bases:
6 x 40mm bases and 8 x 30mm bases. 40mm bases are used for Officers, Characters and elite models. 30mm bases are used for standard infantry.
Token Sheet:
A5 Token Sheet for you to cut out and use to represent actions executed in a game of Dystopian Legions.
8 x black D6, 8 x blue D6 and 8 x red D6.
An 8 inch acrylic ruler to match the range band system.
Stat Sheet:
Detailing statistics for all weaponry and MARs relevant to the miniatures included in your Starter Set.
Activation Cards:
5 x Activation Cards to be used to determine order of march.
Game Cards:
13 x generic Game Cards, 13 x nation-specific Game Cards, 2 x additional Character Game Cards.
Quickplay Rulebook:
80-pages covering all areas of the game mechanics you will need to play a full game of Dystopian Legions, along with descriptive examples and colour diagrams to aid your understanding.

Kingdom of Britannia Game Card
Each Starter Set comes with 28 x Game Cards. Once you begin expanding from the Starter Set you will collect new Cards that can be ‘Swapped-in’ to your Game Card Deck when the relevant Section, Upgrade etc. is taken in the player’s force, by replacing one of the other Cards in the Game Card Deck.
Some Sections, Ironclads, Section Upgrades and Characters are provided with Special Game Cards. These represent any rare command abilities, special skills or other game effects brought to the battlefield by their associated models.

Now let’s take a closer look at the models contained in each of the Starter Sets…

Models from Kingdom of Britannia Starter Set

Led by the charismatic and experienced Captain Gilbert Smethington DFC, the Britannian fighting force is made up of highly-professional and skilled veterans assigned with the task of protecting and expanding Queen Victoria’s vast empire. Look out for the confident Britannian Lieutenant, an unshakable upper class officer who adds a real presence to the battlefield.
The Kingdom of Britannia Starter Set includes 1 x Character Figure, 1 x Officer, 1 x Sergeant, 1 x Flamethrower Specialist, 6 x Line Infantry and 4 x Sky Hussars (plus 4 resin flight plumes). Click the following link for a visual representation of what each model is:

Terror Cotta Warriors and New Background for Pulp City

The above picture appeared on the Pulp City Facebook Page yesterday.
Terror Cotta warriors for the Jade Cult sub-faction.
2 different mask options and the circuitry underneath.
They will also come with an alternate spear arm.

The most interesting thing about these though is the fact they will be the first 'non-unique' Supremes!
You will be able to take 3 of them at a time. Cant wait to give that a go.

They will be released quite soon along side the Jade Cults Level 3 leader, the Green Emperor (below)

A team of Ninjas and Robots is going to be great fun to play. Something different to the Supremes.
But then again that's the thing with Pulp City. EVERYTHING is different. Its one of the most diverse model ranges I know of but it still all fits together and works well.

The Pulp City Team have also been adding to the current fluff and background recently.
Every Monday since the new site was launched they have added the background story of another Supreme.
You can see all the background posted so far >>HERE<< but I have added links to a couple of my recent favourites below

Dr Mercury from the Heavy Metal Heroes is HERE

Another Heavy Metal member. Captain Hadron - HERE

The guide to Solar/Avatar of the Jaguar - Stalker - HERE

What happens when citizens think they can fight the super Villains? Find out in the Vigilantes entry HERE

There are loads more as well. Plus at least 1 new one added every week!

I'm off to keep painting my pink Supremes.

PtCP - Impact Prize, More Entries and Charges!

A quick post today but a important one.
I have been informed by the UPS driver that international parcels ALL have a customs fee on them.
Being in the UK, there are parcels coming in from everywhere. Only 1 so far has had a charge and I was able to pay it and release it. Makes be think the UPS guy wasn't telling the total truth.

But, here is the important bit - This is a charity event on a non profit site. I can not afford to release any more parcels if they come in with charges. (I REALLY hope the UPS guy was wrong)
If this happens with any parcels I will ask if they sender would be willing to pay the fee. If not the parcel will have to be returned.

On the topic of charges, at the end of this there will be parcels going out to all corners of the globe.
Again, being a charity event and a non profit site I will ask if the winners would be happy to pay the postage costs.
You don't have to though. It would just mean I could get them out faster to you instead of a couple a week as and when I can afford it.

Ok, that bits out of the way now. Onto the pretty shiny things!

The prize donation from Impact Miniatures  arrived a couple of day ago. 12 packs from their wonderful range. Everything from an armoured Hippo to a Toad. Including a Potion Peddler and a Beer Girl!
Thanks so much to the guys from Impact!

There have also been a couple more entries appear.

Dystopian Legions Rules PDF + Previews

Spartan Games have posted the Quick Start Rules and Army Lists for Dystopian Legions >>HERE<<
A couple of days ago was a quick explanation of them as well that can be found >>HERE<< or I have reblogged it at the bottom of this post.

At first glance the DL QS Rules seem quite good. I will have to have a good read through them though before I can comment any more.

Spartan have also posted some model previews for KoB Sky Hussars, Captain Gilbert and Knights Templar and for the Prussians, Teutonic Knights and the massive Faust Walker (posted on Facebook by Ilnanonefasto Painting Studio).
That's a 28mm model by the foot!

My forces are decided now.
Although I play France in Dystopian Wars I'm going for the British and Prussians until they come out.
How can I say now to steam powered armour, rocket men and Captain Gilbert? (WOOF! Cookie if you get the ref)

Here is the reblog of Spartans Quick Start Rules look over -
